The picks at 24 and 55
Knowing the Steelers I think it will come down to C RB and T
I suspect the Steelers will draft Dickerson at 24 and Stevenson at 55
Given only 3 options of C RB T who do you think the Steelers will draft at 24 and 55 ??

That would be pretty damn disappointing, especially because Etienne would be the better of the two picks by far. I don't think Josh Myers is very good.

I think Myers is better than Humphrey and Dickerson in moving. Issues with the later two players is they have trouble reaching the 2nd level and then doing something. If the Steelers want to switch to a power running line then fine but neither of them have shown that they can hit anything outside their gaps.

I agree wholeheartedly about the movement skills of Humphrey & Dicerson... but Myers problem is his anchor, which.. in a word... sucks. IIRC, Christian Barmore, for example, plastered him.jebrick wrote: โTue Apr 06, 2021 2:29 pmI think Myers is better than Humphrey and Dickerson in moving. Defense continues to get shredded in the middle of the field.
I like all three players but they need to figure out how to extract the most value out of this draft, not waste the most valuable resource they have on the lowest value position (and one where the difference to replacement value is minuscule).
Elijah Molden
Browning
Christensen
Sermon
Hainsey/Kendrick Green
Would do more for this team overall.

Ah. Sorry @Greeksteel and sorry @cop1211 i didnโt realize the parameters.
Okay, then... make mine:
Etienne
Christensen
Kendrick Green
If youโre going to take a RB 1, at least make it someone who isnโt a plodder bell cow who will suck all the energy out of the offense. yes, Najee can do it all and Williams is a tough runnerโ- but damn this team needs juice so they donโt have to plod down the field and convert all those third downs. Draft a short yardage guy later in the draft or even add a couple as UDFA/street FA. Spencer Brown from Baylor, perhaps?

I dont think the Steelers really know how to use juice on offense.
Either that or they have a deep seeded dislike of real outlier talent

Ummm...the Steelers/Tomlin/A2 are the poster boys for the โplodding, get to 3rd down offenseโ.but damn this team needs juice so they donโt have to plod down the field and convert all those third downs.

If that's what they're going to do, then sure AF don't waste 1st rounder on it! Draft Josh Johnson or Gerrid Doaks or Spencer Brown in the 6th or 7th and use that draft capital elsewhere. Hell, draft Josh Johnson if you're just going to draft a running "modern" QB, anyway, because he is the lead blocker on the zone read play like Dan Kreider AND he's a pretty damn good RB.

I think this is close to what I think they will do, although unfortunately, I think they'll shy away from Christensen because he's 24 and doesn't play power 5. Josh Meyers would be about my 5th or 6th choice for the Steelers but what are you gonna do. Steelers gonna Steeler.Charles Demarr wrote: โFri Apr 09, 2021 4:32 pm1.) Etienne or Harris

Gainwell would likely be a better fit for today's modern NFL offenses, but Sermon just looks more like the kind of guy the Steelers would pick.
Obviously neither are Jerome Bettis-like ground and pounders, but Sermon seems more capable of pounding it between the tackles. At least I bet the Steelers perceive him to be.
I could be wrong, but Tomlin is still going to want to score slowly. Gainwell would help them score TD's too fast.
Zaven Collins, to me, just SCREAMS Steelers linebacker. Has some Shazier in him.
I will literally be shocked if Collins is there and the Steelers take somebody else.

Totally agree I was thinking with Snell and the addition of Ballage maybe they would go for a guy whoโs got some juice and wiggle and not run one back into the ground, go running back by committee .K_C_ wrote: โSat Apr 10, 2021 5:12 pmGainwell would likely be a better fit for today's modern NFL offenses, but Sermon just looks more like the kind of guy the Steelers would pick.

PS Iโd like RB Carter from UNC or Gainwell.
I am very scared that they seem to think a guy like Snell "adds" something to the RB room. Tomlin's has coached Bell, Parker, even Mike Alstott in the way back. He presumably knows what a competent NFL RB looks like. There isn't one on the roster at the moment.
Nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile...
Iโm not just scared of this...Iโm certain of it. They didnโt draft this guy because they like the shoes he wears. Snell is the epitome of the Tomlin/A2 โget to third downโ RB.
