Preliminary take: QBs and RBs are going to be legendarily deep. TE probably good also. Don't have a feel for WR/CB yet. DL was pretty deep this year, but only 3-4 real outlier talents. I would suspect next year might be similar.

Next year is much better for DT than this year.

I think there might be more top talent next year, but the top 3-4 guys this year were really f in good, and the late round guys included some good names.

The top of the WR class could be loaded, especially if all the underclassmen were to declare.

DT looks very solid through days 1 & 2. I like the Godfather out of Cincy.

Najee should be easy to replace, RBs very deep.
In their current state, I hate everything about this organization.

I feel like they need 2 IDL, stat.

Without being overly bold, RB, TE, WR, & QB are almost definitely going to be either holes or at least worthy of upgrade by this time next year. And barring something coming through out of the "potential" guys they have, CB will be in play as well That's a whole draft class right there, even before considering who might not return for 2025.

Assuming we hit on all of our picks in the first five rounds the last two years,

In 2025, we will need to replace starters at:
QB, RB, TE, OG, WR, DT, CB, CB.

Probably figure a couple extensions help reduce that list, and a couple quality FAs. Then we draft some guys and sign scrubs for what’s left.

1.QB ( with trade up)
2.DL
3.traded up for QB ( trade Harris before deadline pick DL)
4.RB
5.WR
6.OT
7.OLB

Cut dead weight Heyward, Ogenjobi.
Sign a good WR and a good DL.

I'm almost with totally with this, but they are definitely going to need some kind of upgrade or replacement at TE, especially if Arthur Smith is retained.

@cop1211 Maybe, but with the injury history and the limitations in his game as a blocker/route runner, I wouldn't be surprised if they attempt an upgrade at move TE.

They really do, historically, like to draft their starting TE's, too. Not sure what might be available via FA, but it might not even be a pool they care to dip into.

Khan's attempts to get a vet WR2 this offseason remind me of Rutherford's search for a Pens 3C, so maybe the draft is their best bet.

Don't think it's going to be an issue, and I like Sanders the player, just don't think the Steelers would want to deal with the Lavar Ball element dad potentially (well, almost assuredly) is going to bring to the table.

I personally think Sanders will be over drafted and have a ok career. I don't think he is an amazing talent. He is accurate even on the move which is a plus but not sure about his arm nor his brains in that offense.

I will be watching Greyson McCall at NC St. and Carson Beck.

If Greyson is fully recovered from his shoulder surgery of two years ago, he's got some stuff you can work with.

Cameron Ward at the U, TJ Finley at Western Kentucky, Taylen Green at Arkansas, Matthew Sluka at UNLV, Fifita at Arizona, Gronowski at SDSU, Grayson James at BC... these are some names to watch.

Fifita is a midget. It would be fun to see him standing next to TJ Finley at the combine. For those who need to look it up, about 8" difference.

Ward is good and has decent talent around him. The worst things people say about him is that he is old. I do not care if he is a franchise QB.

Fifita isn’t big, but he’s bigger than Bryce Young and Kyler Murray. He’s 5106 ~200lb

Ward just turned 22–less than 6 mo older than Carson Beck and almost 4 mo younger than Shadeur Sanders. He’s had a lot of success beginning at a very early age that makes him seem older.
