Indiana QB Kurtis Rourke?

Post by K_C_ » Sat Sep 28, 2024 8:14 pm

Admittedly, I'm a Hoosier homer.....but this kid looks fucking special.

Indiana is 5-0 for the first time in 57 years. Yes, you read that right. 57 fuckin' years.

Rourke threw 2 INT's today. His first turnovers (and IU's first turnovers!) in 5 games.

Rourke is 6'5", 223 lbs. Pretty much perfect size for a QB and he has thrown 11 TD passes in 5 games vs only 2 picks (which he threw today vs Maryland.)

Obviously he hasn't faced the best competition early in the season and much tougher opponents await, but is Rourke a serious possibility as an NFL draft pick and a high one at that?

Dude looks to be an incredible distributor ala what Brock Purdy is doing in San Fran. Quick decisions and very accurate. Deep ball looks good but I don't know overall how strong his arm is.

Anybody with more information on Rourke or thoughts on his future, I would love to get their take.

I like him, I thought he was good at Ohio U as well. I was told in the other thread he's a robot that will be playing in the CFL.
In their current state, I hate everything about this organization.

His main downside is that he's overaged (will turn 24 in 3 weeks). And, yes, he does appear to be less of a robot than his brothers. Also, unless teams are going to draft him early and roster him on the 53, he would likely go to the CFL rather than practice squad. He'll probably be the #1 pick in the CFL draft.

He's been a very good college QB ( which isn't the same as being a great NFL prospect but it can be) and Indiana is a good story this year for sure. @K_C_ and @smithessmokin might be the only two surviving IU fans in the universe.

I'm very worried the elite schools are going to come sniffing around Cignetti after this season and they might make him an offer he can't refuse.

Being that IU is 5-0 for the first time since 1967 and they can't fill Memorial Stadium might just make Cignetti bolt for a much better situation and much bigger money.

I love IU and I'd leave in a second if fucking fans won't show up or leave early.

@K_C_ I either forgot you were a Hoosier fan or didn't know. I'm overly ecstatic how the season is going. I would only say I'm semi-worried about teams coming to sniff around Cignetti. Dolson has committed more money towards the coaching staff than ever before and it's only going to increase. The Hoosiers have a chance to make some CFB world shattering moves this year. The team is an offensive dynamo and the defense has been pretty good as well. They actually have Power 4 players at all levels.

Not to mention...Julian Lewis just dumped off all of his USC stuff off his social media profiles.

Rare times my man, rare times.

And Rourke is the real deal for IU. He's really been able to command the offense and deliver the ball where it needs to go and avoid the pressure. We're going to see how good he really is when he plays some better defenses when Michigan comes to town and when they travel to Ohio State. Right now, I have him as a 5th round pick. Think he has a chance to be a long time back up in the league. But then again, Purdy was an afterthought when it came to being a QB prospect. Sometimes its being in the right situation at the right time. You never know, but if he plays at this level against the big boys, all bets are off.

GO HOOSIERS!
