Quick Mock Out of Super Bowl Week Boredom

Post by Ice » Wed Feb 05, 2025 7:41 pm

Used PFN Simulator, which kinda sucks, but I'm bored. Did a slight R2 trade down to pick up a 4th.

1.21 B. Morrison, CB ND: Joey Jr. needs help, and might be better suited to a #2 if Morrison develops. Develops. Who am I kidding?
2.59T J. Dart, QB, Ole Miss: Probably the 3rd QB, Tomlin and Co. could fall in love with the leadership, running ability and intangibles.
3.83 T. Felton, WR, Maryland: Speedy, good route runner, and over 6' tall. #2 if they keep GP, not so sure about #1 potential.
4.122: T. Baron, EDGE, Miami: Bendy, technical prospect, good frame, could let us say good bye to Highsmith and spend that money somewhere else.
4.128: K. Monangai, RB, Rutgers: I died a little not taking one of the Buckeye RBs, but this guy said Steeler RB to me every time I've watched RU play
5.163: O. Trapilo, OT, BC: The hype machine has started a little bit for this guy already, probably won't be here in reality, but fell into my lap here
7. 225: C. Simon, LB, tOSU: Could he develop into an NFL LB? Maybe, but at least s ST demon, and his intangibles are off the chart. Big part of the best defense in the NCAA.
7. O. Oladejo, EDGE, UCLA: Tweener type 4-3 EDGE by frame and weight. Bargain here, and I think worth the shot on potential. Situational rusher at least.
7. 247: Upton Stout, CB, WKU: Some company/competition for Beanie in the slot. Again, probably won't be available this late.

I know, no DT, because I'm hoping for Hargrave in FA.

Thanks for reading.

Jaxon Dart a polarizing draft prospect

5 star pedigree

Senior Bowl week hyperbole

I would’ve been fine with taking a day 3 “dart” throw on him prior to seeing him crying on the sidelines after a couple really bad ints vs Florida late in the season.

Kids got personality so I could see Tomlin digging him.

I’m in favor of the Steelers drafting any player that causes the board to melt down

I’m guessing Dart probably at or near the top of that list

Hadn't seen him mocked, and the last year we pretty much all agreed it'd be dumb for the Steelers to take a QB anywhere near the top of their draft... they took a QB in the first.

Maybe I'm mentally preparing myself?

Milroe would cause a meltdown

Milroe would be a fun combination of of the Najee (Bama guy overdrafted) and Kenny (QB nobody wants) meltdowns. A judicious melding of catastrophe, if you will.

At this point I have him in the same draft rating as Malik Willis was coming out. Damaged good that you might be able to fix but his floor is about Willis. not sure what his ceiling might be? Hurts perhaps?

His floor is All-Pro RB.

His ceiling is Malik Willis.

Hurts had his tour at Oklahoma where, at least in a slightly gimmicky offensive scheme in a league without D, he could check enough of the passing boxes to be an NFL QB over the course of a season of games.

Milroe is definitely another prospect The Leader of Men could fall in love with and pick, though.

I'm already thinking of taking the day off the day after R1 to facilitate heavy drinking.

I’ve watched every pick for every team all 7 rounds since 1993.
If the Steelers pick Milroe I will turn my TV off.
