Dave Parker HOF

Didn't see that coming.

RF after Clemente.

Toughest replacement act in history.

Long overdue, IMO.

Will he be the last player to go into the HOF as a Pirate? Cutch?

Was great to see this happen while Dave is still with us. Very well deserved honor.

I saw both Clemente and The Cobra play and they both had cannons for a right arm. Clemente's arm was better over a longer period of time, but in the mid to late 70's, The Cobra would gun out runners at an amazing clip from the depths of right field.

I'm hesitant to say that any more Buccos will make the HOF, and certainly not in my lifetime. I don't think Cutch quite has the numbers or the cachet to make it. Way to go, Cobra!

I suspect the next one will be Paul Skenes unless Gerritt Cole makes it.

Though there should be a special wing at the HOF for Bobby Bonilla simply because of that Mets contract.

Four years over .500 since 1992 has pretty much burned any Pirates or frankly even MLB fandom out of me. I also don’t really know what it takes to get into the HOF anymore. So take this for what it’s worth - do John Candelaria, Andy Van Slyke or Jason Kendall have any kind of shot? Baseball-reference.com lists them as three of the “Top 24 Pirates in Franchise History.” I went back and looked at some of those dogshit rosters from 1993 through the present and there isn’t much to celebrate in any of them.

Thrilled to death for the Cobra! Totally deserving, and I only wish he had played his entire career in Pittsburgh.

The only Pirate I think is an egregious omission from Cooperstown isn't a player, but a manager - Danny Murtaugh. He is the greatest manager in Pittsburgh Pirates history, won two World Series despite being a big underdog in both, and can be credited with establishing a winning franchise upon arrival which went all the way until the end of the 70's. He also came back twice despite health issues to manage the franchise to winning records. If Murtaugh did the same in New York, Boston or even Philadelphia, he had have been in Cooperstown decades ago. As much as L.C. Greenwood is the most egregious omission from Canton, Danny Murtaugh is that from Cooperstown.

Agree 100% Jack! Danny was the greatest Buccos manager in my lifetime and it was not even close. Both managers he defeated in his World Series wins are in the HOF. It's long overdue for Danny to be in!
