There's a reason that Matt Hague is a career minor leaguer.

Bullshit, I've been driving it since he arrived!

Jackass cost us a run letting Hauge or whatever his name is swing.

Should have scored a run, but Hurdle is an asshole and let a minor leaguer ground into a DP.

Pittsburgh Pirates bullpen....transforming Colten Wong in to Jose Batista, one pitch at a time.

I'm not so sure I can get behind the Pirates' strategy of losing when they play teams in their own division, even if they also win when they play teams from other divisions.

Just when I start to get excited about these guys, they lay a fucking egg like this. You'd think they'd want to settle the Cards' hash for them after the playoffs. Nope, they've fucking wimps.

Wong, 4 homers all season, 2 in 2 games with us. Clint making a hero out of him.

I said in the other thread, while we laid this egg, the Phillie came in and took the Brewers for three straight games.

An unexpected chance to make up ground in the Central, and our thumbs were up our asses.

27-16 against the NL East and West.

20-28 against the NL Central. 9-4 v the Cubs...11-24 v the Reds, Cards, and Brewers

3-10 v the Brewers.
3-7 v the Reds
5-7 v the Cards.

There's the problem right there.

As opposed to Chris Stewart.

I think I'd take my chances with Pierzynski off the bench.

The dude looks like a total bad seed. Why would you want him?

And I know that the red Sox always dump on players they leave, like the author said, but it seems totally deserved.

Neither Stewart nor Sanchez may be making the grade, but come on, man! We don't need a dude like AJ around.

Okay. But no whining about Stewart when Martin inevitably misses time.

I probably would have agreed with you before this season. I catch a lot of Red Sox games. He's absolutely worthless behind the plate. And yes, he was a decent hitter at one time, but no more. Will he give you more hits than Chris Stewart? Maybe, but like Jeemie says, the guy's a fucking turd in the clubhouse. Players around the league can't stand the guy. No fucking thanks.

Just throwing this out there, what would it take to acquire Papelbon from Philly? He wants traded, and the Pirates desperately need a hammer to close out games. Hell, throw Burnett into the deal and i'd be a happy camper

Papelbon isn't a hammer anymore...although he has been quite good this season.

I don't think he's appreciably better than Melancon or Watson...Phils would have to eat a lot of contract.

I think Papelbon is WAY more likely than Street. Combo of eating salary and a little Jose Tabata action might make it palatable to the Pirates.

If the Pirates are willing to add salary there should be a ton of available options in positions of need

If i'm getting two pitchers from the Phils, I'd prefer Papelbon and Lee over Papelbon and Burnett- depending, of course, on how Lee looks after the ASB.

Phils hopefully would eat a ton of salary.

If you're getting Lee and Papelbon they'd fucking have to eat significantly more than half of it.

I think you'd probably be better off spreading it around. Get maybe Papelbon from the Phillies, a starter from somewhere else, ADRIAN FUCKING BELTRE.
