Every year --- at least it has seemed in recent seasons. Particularly remember Cutch hitting a fantastic walk-off, extra-innings HR to crush the Cards with a series sweep a few years back (2015?), leading into the ASG break --- then they came back flat and the Buccos never fully regained that swagger the rest of the season ...

But for now, I'll try to enjoy the ride. And where's Mean Joe?? The Lumber Company is back in business, baby!

yes; every year the swoons killem. they on fire before break and the off time ruins it ; I hope bell is not ruined in homer derby but I expect the worse with him and team. hard team to believe and have faith in. but they are currently stroking the ball !

I’ve been worried about the home run derby too. I think it ruined Cutch’s swing.

wow; big win. cards and cubs in striking distance today! could this squad win out and be in 1st place at break? craziness

Entertaining baseball, and training camp only 20 days away. Buccos fulfilling their Pittsburgh sports function at this point.

Fun game to watch yesterday.
