Nice start, up 4-0 after the top of the first.
I was thrown off for a bit seeing Mercer hitting second. The Giants were too, apparently.

J Hay with a bomb make that 5-0

Because the Giants might hit a ball to the third baseman at some point tonight.
Lefty- Lefty matchup + Tweeked Knee is why Alvarez is riding pine

Pedro is making it harder and harder to bitch about his not being in the lineup. Except for Morel!

Nice win.
Worley had great stuff and location. 9 strong innings of shut out baseball...Team needed a big time start and he delivered
4 run top of the 1st never hurts

100 pitches, 71 strikes. Some effort. 35 fewer pitches than the Gint's!

Yeah, I think Pedro should be granted his outright release, that's the reasonable conclusion to jump to there. The guy in his spot also didn't throw any routine grounders 12 rows into the seats tonight as far as I could tell.
I'm not a big proponent of paying premium money to a guy you can't feel confident playing against lefties and can't feel confident leaving in the game defensively late in close games. Right now, Pedro seems about as likely to score runs for the other team as he does for the Pirates, especially when they're facing left-handed pitching.

We had 'em all the way!

Well, if it's any consolation, he pitched like Yummiest Petit!
