Unfortunately, we cannot fire the owner.

Unfortunately...
Nevertheless, this is a good first step. Hopefully the axe doesn’t stop with Hurdle...

Sadly, the Pirates franchise should be contracted.

It's an embarrassment now, to say the least.

....and I say this as a person that worshipped that team until the last few.

Now I truly don't give a fuck.

So far gone are the days of the 70's w/ Danny Murtaugh and the 90's w/ Chuck Tanner w/ all the great players and ownership structure---just so very sad....

Great article by DK on his site this morning on the state of the Buccos and what could, and should, be done about it. Pretty sure it can be read for free, and it's worth the 5 minutes for sure.
Nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile...

It is complete bullshit.

Fire Nutting. That's the problem. 98 wins and he brings in bums. Every year since. Casey Stengel and Danny Murtaugh could not have won with the weak rosters he was handed since 2015.

I hear the "experts" say that we may have had 5-7 more wins if he made better decisions. These bozos have never managed a major league baseball team, for one. For another, you have to be kidding me. A few more wins means squat.

No manager was able to bring this team back to respectability after 1992 other than one Clint Hurdle. He is my favorite manager after Danny and Chuck Tanner. It can be argued that he was in the right place at the right time, but no matter the talent level, that team of players needed to believe they could win. Clint did that for them. He changed the culture. That was a Herculean task.

If they had fired Huntington and then the new GM gets to pick his own manager and coaches, I could have lived with. I would have been sad, but it makes sense. This is just scapegoating bullshit. The same bums will be on the team for the new manager and nothing will change.

FIRE NUTTING!!

So when do Pirates fans start applying pressure where it would actually affect Nutting?

Like, get some picketers outside of Seven Springs on a holiday weekend. Organize a mass boycott, if possible.

Something.

I think the boycott has already started. Down over 1,000,000 since 2015.

2015. The year that put on full display the betrayal of this owner to the fans of baseball and the Buccos. Yes, the second best record in MLB only got us to the WC and one and done. But you had to see the value in making that team stronger. Instead The Nut and his boot-licking lackey, Huntington, demonstrated that he had no balls, and never had any intention, even when on the brink, of ensuring this team would remain competitive and ready to overcome the final challenge to compete for a World Series championship. I have rarely felt more enraged and betrayed following the off-season between 2015-2016. The trading of The Pittsburgh Kid for trash simply foreshadowed the heinous and ball-less trade of the Face of the Franchise two years later. They are the shame of sports and how they look themselves in the mirror is anybody's guess. Clint was the sacrificial lamb to provide cover for these criminals doing what they do:. Fleece the city and the fans of baseball to line their pockets while providing sub-par teams on the regular.
