Nah, just good hard hockey. They are an upstanding group.

Ignoring the fact that Miller has been fucking with Oshie - hard - most of this series and that it is nearly impossible to precisely time an elbow into a guy's nose you're not looking at - where were you guardians of the nobility of the game when McNabb viciously boarded Oshie a few minutes later - an actual dirty, dangerous play?

If you're not too invested in your dumbass narrative, go look at some stills of the hit or the very obvious reverse angle in the twitter link below. There was no elbow to face contact except in your imagination.

I wish I could wish you Good Luck, Malba...cuz you're a good dude, but I just can't. That said, you don't need my well wishes, Fleury has come back to the guy we knew in 2012-2013, and Knights are done.

Is it just me or are these NHL and NBA finals the worst ever?

I'm desperate for some real entertainment:

Maybe one of the GK's will have a 'Durant' kind of night. Alas, it is too late, this party is going to crash very soon.

If somehow VGK could come all the way back it would make the humiliation of the Caps ten times more fun.

No matter what happens VGK is still the sports story of the year. The only thing I can think of like it was Leicester's EPL title.

Oshie has been crucial for Washington this run but that was a nice job of embellishment on his part.

Fleury was such a sieve this series that that historic .960 or whatever save % he had dipped into the low .920s. yikes. Never had a game above .900 save%.

Ryan Reaves in press box.

All my players played their parts.

If not the Pens then either the Bolts or Vegas.

It’s not possible for me to care less about the Caps. I’ll say it’s nice that Ovi won a cup because he’s an unreal hockey player, and while his goal celebrations are juvenile and lame, all of those years the Pens bitch slapped the Caps around (which we actually still do, and they will never let down the failures of the Ovi era against the Pens), Ovi never bitched or acted like an asshole in defeat.

Wilson and Smith Pelly can go fuck themselves. Trotz sucks and so does the Caps owner.

Fleury is still Fleury. The GWG is vintage shitty MAF; that is going to sting for a LONG time.

On to Pens off season talk. Stoked for the US Open next week at Shinnecock.

Congrats, man. Enjoy it.

Caps deserved it for sure, and frankly, aren’t getting enough respect around here for how well they played.

Everyone seems way more interested in saying who sucked on the teams the Caps played than admitting that maybe the Caps were just really that damn good and no one was going to have an answer for them.

Lol that the GWG was another one where the puck squirted under Fleury’s butt.

Gives me some hope that a team with an older core, hot goalie, and a good mix of young guys can come back from the dead and win a cup. Good for Ovie - always respected him. He should have been a Penguin. I am certain he would have more rings if he was and he would have enjoyed playing for the best organization in hockey under the greatest owner and greatest player in NHL history instead of the scum in DC.

Did the Cup wither and die when Tom Wilson touched it? I had a prop bet.

Yup, makes sense to have the Pens come to DC for the banner raising.

Congrats to the Caps.

I just hope they have room in the rafters with all those division championship banners already there.

(Sorry, I don't have many Caps jokes left that are still valid. And that hurts me. That hurts me deep)

There will always be the Bengals.

It is sad/funny to go to Bengals game and half the stadium is clad in AFC North Champions T-shirts.

Hats off to Vegas fans.

Glad to finally see some classy fans who understand what you do even when the Cup is won in your building.

I hope Nashville never gets another sniff of the finals.

Yes. Particularly the chick who pulled her boobs out of her dress as the Caps were skating around the ice with the Cup.

We need more fans like her.

Fleury finished higher in voting than Kuznetsov did for the Conn Smythe.
The dude who had over a 4.0 GAA in the finals had more votes for the Smythe than the guy who led the playoffs in points.

That piece about Oshie getting emotional because of winning the cup in front of his father who is battling dementia really tugs on the heart strings. Good for him and I hope this brings his family some joy.

Back to hockey; after sleeping on it I can’t help but think maybe Nash or WPG would have made this a much better series. I like the way both of those teams are built, and but for some really terrible goal tending by Rinne, I though Nashville had enough talent up and down the roster, at least to compete with a hot Caps team.

I’m hockeyed out. But man, it is hard to believe the Knights made it as far as they did with the level of terrible goaltending and team defense in their zone that I saw throughout the SCF. Their defense was abysmal, particularly in front of MAF.

But salute their fans; after the tragedy in October people in that town needed something to cling to in order for their minds to be taken off that asshole in the window at Mandalay Bay. I can assure you many are in the doldrums this morning, not really believing the wild ride is actually over.
