So the Pens better buckle up- the NHL has decided the Caps can goon up on whomever they like.
Maybe it's time for Ovechkin to get his Cup? I don't know.
Thanks Donny Brasco for spotting this.
No Dept. of Player Safety hearing for Tom Wilson, per NHL. @Capitals @penguins

If the league won't police players, then its time to get biblical...End Ovie's season.

Reaves needs to play tomorrow. What's the word on Hags and Geno?

The talking heads were already giving the NHL a way out by explaining that Dumoulin stopped and therefore there was nothing Wilson could do.
As I said, Wilson and Ovechkin have the sandwich move down pat...and if they didn't punish Wilson for Wennberg, when he left his fucking feet to launch himself high, they weren't punishing him for this.

The Pens have been pretty bad at home. Time to come out with a vengeance and take it to the Caps games 3 & 4. If what transpired in game 2 isn’t fuel to the collective fire, I don’t know what will be.

Nope...nothing new of which I'm aware.

Crosby and a few others looked seriously pissed off at the officiating. And at the caps for taking cheap shots. The trip on the turnover in the neutral zone looked completely intentional, as did a few other things.
The first few minutes of the next game is going to be telling.

Dumo Hags and Malkin all skated
Initially Hags had a no contact sweater but switched to a regular one. Wearing a face shield.

My guess is Geno and Hags plays...Dumo sits a game.

I like how Murray was supposed to reset himself in that .5 seconds to stop that PP Goal, negating the interference by Connolly, but Tom Wilson did not have enough time to reset in between Dumo trying to avoid the Ovechkin hit.

Time to sacrifice one of the call-ups from WBS. Start him at some point and have him take out a Caps starter or two......I'm 100 percent for setting a precident for the rest of the series. 100% intentional in my mind, along with the no goal call and the interference....AND somebody please tell Murray to wake up BEFORE the game starts and not let an easy goal in to start the game.

Sully doesn't operate that way.
He is firm about the Pens playing their game, the kind he wants out of them. To suddenly change that when the series is still young and tied IMO would be a big chance to take.
Sully did say today that the Pens can be physical but that it is imperative that they play their game.
The Pens have to start better.
It would be nice if Kessel got things going early with a quick goal.
As for Murray, he has shown time and time again that he bounces back after a lousy or average game.

Exactly. How about making through 2 whole minutes without letting Ovie pass to Kuznetsov for the goal, or vice versa?
Score first and win these next two games at home. I’m sick of the Pens getting pushed around in their own barn. And for Christ sakes Murray get some practice on that glove hand.

Watching Tampa/Boston.
Penguins take note...Tampa's PP goal? that's how you move the puck on the PP.

ha..if murray simply raised his glove hand 6 inches when the shot is still being shot he would stop most of the glove side attempts!!

I'm only half way joking..

The Ovie goal last game appeared to catch Murray cheating up with his glove hand (because he's been getting beated there)... puck went under glove.

Under the glove? I just watched in frame by frame and it looks like it goes over his hand. He looked late to the party on that one.

Sure looked to me like the puck went over his glove tucked in the high shelf.

Yeah, you guys are right... I saw it wrong. I thought he was cheating up and it went under him when I first saw it.

I'm not defending MM here, but if you see most goals against in the NHL is on the goalies glove side. Reason being is that there is more of an opening vs the stick/blocker side. More shooters pick that spot for that very reason
