Steelers vs Bengals: A battle between 2 evenly matched teams
Well we won, but how sad is it that we were in a tightly contested battle with a 0-10 Bungles team?
Rudolph is not the answer -- I know it hasn't been a full season but he doesn't have "it". Duck isn't the answer either but he at least has a modicum of pocket presence and awareness. How far have we fallen when we have to scratch and claw to eek out a win versus a 0-10 team?

Take away all that talent and it is true that the teams are more evenly matched.Pabst wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2019 3:36 pmI, for one, am shocked that the Steelers offense struggled without:The Riddle of Steel wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2019 3:18 pmWell we won, but how sad is it that we were in a tightly contested battle with a 0-10 Bungles team?

Yet if the same happened to the Patriots I bet they still win by 3 scores. What's the difference then?stillthere wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2019 4:01 pmTake away all that talent and it is true that the teams are more evenly matched.Pabst wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2019 3:36 pmI, for one, am shocked that the Steelers offense struggled without:The Riddle of Steel wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2019 3:18 pmWell we won, but how sad is it that we were in a tightly contested battle with a 0-10 Bungles team?

If the Steelers don't take a knee at the end and get the TD that is a 13 point win and if we don't have the int in the redzone early in the game that is a 16-20 point win.
And if Bush doesn’t luckily knock the ball out of Tyler Boyd’s hands, Bungals get their first win at Steelers expense. And then...stillthere wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2019 10:14 pmIf the Steelers don't take a knee at the end and get the TD that is a 13 point win and if we don't have the int in the redzone early in the game that is a 16-20 point win.

Bush said in postgame comments that he tried with both arms to knock the ball out. First with his right arm and then once he secured the tackle, a swing with his left arm.
Look at the video––he ain't lying.

Ability and technique.bradshaw2ben wrote:Bush used specific technique on the forced fumble: try to swipe the ball on the way to securing the runner, then swipe with other hand. He did in fact swipe with right arm on the way to wrapping it around runner, then swung with left arm to knock it out.

Yes, how far we have we fallen, from the day of with fully-loaded offenses, Steelers would lose road games to 2-8 teams. The Riddle of Steel wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2019 3:18 pmWell we won, but how sad is it that we were in a tightly contested battle with a 0-10 Bungles team?

THIS!!! Yet another curse-breaking game! Our previous losses to crappy teams were with Bell, Ben, Brown, Pouncey, JuJu on the field.swissvale72 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2019 6:26 amYes, how far we have we fallen, from the day of with fully-loaded offenses, Steelers would lose road games to 2-8 teams. The Riddle of Steel wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2019 3:18 pmHow far have we fallen when we have to scratch and claw to eek out a win versus a 0-10 team?
This game, they actually won with practically zero offense or stars. When Matt Feiler is the biggest star on your offense, I mean... he's great and all don't get me wrong, but...
True, it was mostly defense. But even with the "Killer B's" we would see anemic offense against crappy teams on the road enough that we have learned to fear the bottom-feeders more than the #1 teams!
I know it sounds crappy, but I can't help but think that some of our handicap was Ben and the various ensconced "personalities" on the team. Let's not forget that the team raided "Rappin' Bell's" locker when he left. Not a tear was shed. Basically it seems THEY were the ones that blew off game preparation, dragging down the team. And try reprimanding your mult-million dollar QB, WR, or RB. This year might be the best thing that ever happened to Tomlin.
And what the heck has been up with Pouncey's snaps all year???? I mean, how many years has he been doing this?

Not exactly a surprise after whats unfolded for this team. Losing your HOF QB is a shot through the foot. So you limp on in hopes of keeping up with the competition. Then your team suffers injury after injury putting more stress on an already very stressful scenario.
Losing your running game and having WR's that couldn't catch a bubble on a light breeze. Then you start losing key offensive/defensive players to concussion, torn muscles and just shitty horrific play. So your offense is gutted and your defense is missing a couple key players. You continue on as if there was really any other choice.
Your second string, ROOKIE QB just doesn't have the same capabilities as your HOF. Go figure. He struggles. Struggles with reading the opponent, struggles with releasing his passes and struggles with his bell being rung so hard that he just hasn't recovered yet, still?
The fact that this team with a failing OLine no WR's and No RB's combined with No QB has even made it to this portion of the season still in contention for a Wildcard kinda makes a thread like this an exercise in futility. Tomlin for all his blunders and boneheaded decisions has really stood this test of attrition and deserves a little more respect than I've been willing to express lately.
If you would have told me at the beginning of the season that we lost Ben for the season and this team would be still in contention for a wildcard spot I'd have told you to quit eating the Brown Acid!
