Why not Harbaugh for Coach of the Year?
I think he deserves it more for guiding the Ravens to a 14-2 record more than Tomlin guiding the Steelers to a 7-9 or 8-8 season.

Based on W-L records alone then yes. But I think Coach of the Year is more than just W-L records. What Harbaugh has done with his defense is expected. Retooling an entire offensive strategy to fit the immense but unique talents of Lamar Jackson is a wonder to behold. It might not last forever, but any team they play who can't stop the run is going to get destroyed.

Harbaugh certainly deserves consideration for coach of the year but keep these things in mind:
What you see now is a year and a half (at least) in the making. Tomlin did not know he was not going to have Ben this year when the season started. If they both make the playoffs and the Ravens go deep, perhaps they should share the award.
Newsome is probably the biggest reason Jackson is on this team. I do believe that Jackson was part of Newsome's final draft. Ozzie went out with a bang. I do credit Harbaugh for being flexible as this is not the first time that he needed to make a change and it led to success. He once fired an offensive coordinator mid season and it led to success.
Harbaugh was a special teams coach. He has never been known as an offensive or defensive guru. He has been known for making the right hires.
It is very difficult to separate a coach's success from his QB's. Jackson and the Ravens front office are big reasons the Ravens are having this much success.

Jibba Jabber’s offense hasn’t scored more than 7 1st quarter points in 84 consecutive games. An NFL record by far. A historic amount of “easin in”. We are lucky to have him.

I like McDermott a lot. I think Tomlin, McDermott, Doug Pederson, Sean Payton, Pete Carroll, Andy Reid are all in the next tier after Belichick & Shanahan. Honestly, Harbaugh has a fantastic staff-- if you're not counting assistants in the ranking, I think Tomlin might be a better coach. Let's see what Harbaugh looks like with a franchise QB not on rookie contract the second time around... he didn't do all that well the first time around.
Agree with you, Raven boy. Harbaugh is coach of the year so far.
