If that happens, I plan to not post about it, for three reasons,

C) This team has a knack to never be ready to execute at the start of any season, let alone pre-season

2007: 4-1 preseason, started regular season 6-2
2008: 3-1, 6-2
2009: 3-1, 6-2
2010: 3-1, 6-2
2011: 3-1, 6-2
2012: 3-1, 5-3

No injuries.
Cohesion; control the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball.
Smart brainy fast football with a good degree of legal violence.
Swarming defense.
Coaches see what they were looking for/ want from players.

Win lose or draw I don't care. It's the preseason, and it's meant for development and to see what you've got so player personnel decisions can be made.

As a fan, though, a touchdown in three minutes would be nice from starters on starters. I read somewhere that PS don't usually play starters in the first preseason game. Am I making that up?
Arguing with idiots is like playing chess with a pigeon. No matter how good you are, the pigeon is going to shit on the board and strut around like it won anyway.

Dri Archer on a wheel route for 72 yards and a TD.

Chances of that are .25%.

Ok...more realistically, good o'line play. 1-2 sacks allowed on first drive could drive post counts here up dramatically.

Winning doesn't necessarilly mean that the offense was clicking right off the bat.

2008- game 2 win 10-6, game 3 lose 15-6
2009- game 1 win 13-10, game 2 lose 17-14
2010- game 1 win 15-9 (no TDs in regulation), game 2 win 19-11
2011- game 1 lose 35-7
2012- game 1 lose 31-19
2013- game 1 lose 16-9, game 2 lose 20-10, then lose 2 more

Last 5 years they've averaged 12.6 ppg in their opening games, going 2-3.

"I want the group to play fast. I want them to play with the urgency that's required to play winning football in a stadium setting," Tomlin said of what he wants to get out of the Steelers' preseason opener. "We'd like to keep penalties to a minimum. We'd like to play assignment-clean football. At this point we'll see where we are in that regard." http://espn.go.com/blog/pittsburgh-stee ... ason-games

Tomlin, on what he expects to unfold Saturday.
