Did you catch the end of the Vike GB game? Rodgers was zoned into his target so hard that he didnt notice the defender behind him that swiped the ball out of his hand for the late 4Q turnover victory preserving play.
and our guys would be nowhere near him on the pass rush... which is why I say, without serious pass rush, Rodgers will eat up a defense that just sits back

It didn't take much pressure to get Dalton antsy and inaccurate, so even having a little pressure worked. The Steelers OL made some holes especially to the edges. Ben didn't really look that "off". He looked more off last week, to be honest. It looked like a bad weather game against a rival and said rival is not a bad team.
2-0 vs 2 playoff teams is a good start.
I did not rewatch.
But can not recall much penetration by the Cincy deline into our backfield.
Not until it was clear that we were handing off to kill clock...late in 4th..was there runs for a loss.
Ben was only sacked once?

You're afraid we're going to lose the Super Bowl?

I mean, if we're going to the Super Bowl, I'd prefer to win it.
That said, after two weeks, I don't think GB is a chic pick to make it out of the NFC anymore.
Nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile...

Rush two, Rush three or rush zero and drop 11. Honestly, if it produces wins, who cares?
We haven't won shit since we had a dominant defense. Really.

Talk about narrow-minded. Not even sure what to say about that. Might as well be unhappy until we have a top two defense to go along with our top 2 offense.

Just seems like losing the Super Bowl is a little further down our list of things to worry about at the moment.

Hopefully we add Bud Dupree before the Super Bowl.

Narrow minded because I don't think like a random Steeler fan? Narrow minded because I am not overly excited about being 2-0 after watching this defense and drinking your Kool Aid? And who is narrow minded?
Dude I am stating my opinion. I don't think this defense is championship material. Championship is the only goal on my mind because we have a qb who is 34 years old. I hate the entire philosophy. I would rather be playing 4-3 with coverage lb's and db's and I said that 4 years ago. I will gladly eat my words too. This offense better be great every week.

Nah, his WRs, oline and RBs thus far at least have looked downright pedestrian.

Don't get me wrong, Clan-- I think GB overall is not a good football team. But this is the NFL circa 2016, where you can't cover even pedestrian guys for long enough to stop Rodgers when he gets no pressure from 4.

Plus let's not pretend like Brady or Rodgers didn't used to feast on the cover 3 zone blitz. Brady feasted so much on our D he went right to the locker room for liposuction. Rodgers never had much problem with our D, ditto tannenhill and a host of other average QBs.

I don't know about the other stuff, but I thought he showed all of the physical tools needed for Butler to mold into a nice pass rusher coming out in the draft. He obviously hasn't blossomed, but maybe he just needs the right program. Worth a shot imo.
worth a shot
there are guys available to bring in... but if they don't fall out of love with Jarvis, Moats, and Chickillo, none of the rest matters.
Tomlin: Jarvis has played well for us. He's guy we've identified as a guy capable of playing both sides.

They did not pick up Jervis' 5th year option. How in love can they be with him?

While I certainly agree Jarvis has not played at the level that had hoped for with their mid-first round investment, especially statically, I'm probably in the minority here in thinking he has been pretty good still. I wouldn't be surprised to see them resign him at a middle of the pack contract. Dude is just a hair late on splash plays, but is playing all-around try hard, sound football imo. Most first rounders don't end up producing like first rounders. I've excepted him playing like a third rounder with hopes of a little improvement.

You're assuming that is the way Butler shows up against GB. I don't doubt he'll make plays but unlike PS he doesn't have a get out jail card. Ben under extreme pressure can dump a pass to Bell or AB who can make something out of absolutely fuck all. I see no one on current GB roster that fits that bill. If anything Rodgers is having to throw into tighter and tighter windows to make any plays: pressure or no pressure. Imagine Gio Bernard on that team...he'd have a field day.

He's standing in the way of a great player. He is possibly standing in the way of a championship.
