They mentioned that Hunwick was dealing with an injury pregame.

Schultz was out there with the top PP. Maybe Letang had come off along shift prior-I don't know.

Crosby really struggled on the PP along the wall. That is where the Sharks prime their PK attack. Maybe get him out front of the net and let Malkin use his size to work the walls.

I've had really bad luck with reddit nhl streams.

Not been able to watch at all.

Go pens?

Crosby played what, 50 seconds of that PK? He was stellar out there. Day and night from the PP.

Murray has been good.

Damnit. Deflection.

Edit:

Maybe not a deflection, but a heavy screen at least.

Sullivan doesn't like to use TO's early but they could use one now.

These penalties are an easy way to lose a close game.

Letang, why would you do that? Crucial time in the PK .

Down a goal.

Kessel had some amazing passes last night and Tommy K’s game has evolved. He is becoming an offensive threat too. Trade deadline is 2/26 - wonder what JR is going to do?

There's two rumors that I don't particularly like.

One is bringing Matt Cullen back from Minnesota, which I really don't like. He's a 4th liner when we need a 3rd.

The other rumor is bringing another ex-Penguin player back in Mark Letestu. I don't like that one either. He isn't playing well in Edmonton, and frankly, I never though he was really that good a player even in his best days.

Last two games Knuckle had several great looks with net to work with and he failed. I can't ever see him being proficient offensively thought Sully loves him on the PK.

How about Tierney from the Sharks? I wonder what it would take to pry him away. Don't know if SJ looks at him as the future or if he is the right piece right now at third center.

Instead of over paying and making a bad trade, I would take Cullen and make him a 3C for this run if there are no other options. I could live with that - is there one more run left in the old man? Maybe.

Tommy K is improving, no question. That's all I am pointing out.

I think if Cullen ended up coming back, I'd rather put Cullen on the 4th line and Sheahan on the 3rd. Which isn't to say I like that option at all, as I don't think it really gets us in any better of a situation. I just think their goal is to separate Crosby, Malkin, and Kessel again, and I don't think Cullen is a good fit at all with Kessel. Which isn't to say Sheahan is, I just think he'd be better than Cullen.

Which is why I don't like that trade. The more you talk it out, the less sense it makes.

Improving where?
Not offensively. He has 2 goals in nearly 50 games so far this season.
I think the most goals he has had in an NHL season was 5. I would expect someone with offensive skills on the fourth line to score 10 goals a season.
I'm not knocking him as player because he has value.
Shot blocking makes up some of that value and is a rare commodity in the game today. He is also a good PK'er so he adds to the team there.
One more thing, when was the last time Sully moved him up and down the lineup? He can't hang with the bigger dogs.
Knuckle is fine on the fourth line.
