- Russell Martin is the hero
- Pedro is the zero

Was listening to last night's Dodgers/Giants game on the radio, and they mentioned JHay evading the tag. The commentator said, "don't be surprised if he's returning kicks for the Steelers this fall."
Agree on the scrap-heap additions NH and Co. are guilty of. Still, I can't see playing the waste Morel instead of Alvarez, and I've hardly been a vocal supporter of Pedro.

"Jack Lambert is mean and relentless wherever he goes, on and off the field! I do remember many times he would chase me in practice, but no way would I let him catch me" - Franco Harris
It is almost scarey that, based on WAR, Alvarez is still the best option. I think Harrison would pass him given playing time but...

I see Pedro at 1st base in the near future. not this season but perhaps next. 21 throwing errors is insane.

Yep, that's a switch you make in the off season, not in the middle of a pennant race.
But will/should they put in the time with such a move, considering next season could be Pedro's last in Pittsburgh?

Shame of it is Pedro seems like a good dude, has decent range at 3B, has power for days and pretty much carried the Pirates against the Cards in the playoffs last season. But man his inability to hit for a decent average and now his throwing errors are maddening. I really don't know what to think. What type of $ would he realistically command on the open market?

My guess would be whomever signs him will be pricing him as a 1st baseman.
