Crazy opinion, but we are BETTER without Conner and JuJu

Post by The Riddle of Steel » Mon Dec 09, 2019 9:09 pm

In the recent games without Conner and Juju the team has been playing better...running the ball better...catching the ball better...and having fewer turnovers.

Coincidence?

Note I think Conner is basically a JAG at this point. JuJu still has potential to be a great WR but already I see DJ surpassing him in terms of WR1 ability. He shows flashes of AB with his gamebreaking return and RAC ability. Two things JuJu has never really shown.

I’m sure it has nothing to do with playing 1, 3, and 6 win teams the past few weeks. Or replacing the QB who looked she’ll shocked for the last month,

Or perhaps guys have stepped up in their absence (Johnson, Washington, Edmunds, Snell and Samuels) and we have found some nice fill-in guys in Whyte and Cain

Premise is completely off.

The team is turning the ball over just as frequently with or without both players.

The team has been running better over the last three weeks, while passing yards have dropped off. As Perch said, that's more likely due to playing 3 teams with poor run defense than anything else.

I know at this point you're kind of locked into a routine or bit, like the Klexter.
But James Connor still leads the team in rushing yards, rushing TDs, receiving TDs amongst our RBs, and he's been out for three games. That's a year off a 13-TD season.
We'd unquestionably be a better offense with him in there.
His inability to stay in the field is making him seem less valuable, as we are facing inferior defenses, but it is highly unlikely we'll get by with Snell, Whyte, Edmunds and Samuels for much longer. I'd love to see them prove me wrong next Sunday.

Johnny can’t catch a fucking cold Holton is getting offensive snaps.

So no, we aren’t better without JuJu.

I do like the Cain kid we picked up at WR. Makes a nice 4 with JuJu in the mix.

I’m on the fence bout Connor long-term but he’s definitely among our top 3 right now.
Jibba Jabber’s offense hasn’t scored more than 7 1st quarter points in 84 consecutive games. An NFL record by far. A historic amount of “easin in”. We are lucky to have him.

We are better without Bell & Brown, too. About Conner & JuJu, it's has more to do if they don't give away the ball.

Simple concept -- better players generally lead to a better team. Juju is a great player. Adding him back to the mix will very likely make the team better because adding good players tend to make the team better.

The onus is largely on the person claiming the team is better off not adding a good player than the other way around. You have not met that onus.

If you really feel this way - go watch some highlights this year of some of the Steeler wins, specifically James Conner.
San Diego
Miami
Colts

I mean, you want that guy in your lineup. I get it - he's been hurt... but there is no doubt that this team is better with him available.

With a healthy Conner and JuJu the Steelers are better.
Secure NHALS early and then go deep into the PLAYOFFS. :D :D :D

This thread is the epitome of the average individual having a really hard time tracking multiple factors simultaneously and thus being subject to significant errors in drawing conclusions.

In other words, this thread is dumb as shit. Shut the fuck up with this bullshit.

yes, that is a crazy (read: idiotic) opinion.
We are BETTER without Mason Rudolph.

Conner's a china doll who will (or should) retire within the next 2 years, but without question he's still our best RB.

Whyte is going to be an interesting option going forward but Snell is very ordinary (tough, but not very skilled or quick) and Samuels has been okay, but I would think everybody expected more from him.

Just gotta hope we can continue to win then add both Conner and JuJu (who should be healthy) near playoff time.

They could give this team a huge boost.

I think the coaches do a better job when their back's against the wall and are missing key components. I also think the quality of opponent has something to do with our recent wins.
