I thought he was shaving once he started throwing? Could this be an imposter? :D

He looks pretty skinny.

Thanks for posting.

We all know Ben doesn’t work out...

There's a shitpile of jealousy in those comments, man.

He’s not skinny or in shape there.

Those face pubes add 8-15 lbs. he doesn’t look out of shape to me. He will lose weight when he starts training.

That's what I would say - doesn't look out-of-shape. Looks about like late-July Ben from previous years.

Like someone said, he couldn't do a whole lot other than ride exercise bikes. He shouldn't have any problem dropping 15 lbs once he starts running and lifting.

I’m not saying he couldn’t get back into shape, and I’m not even saying there’s not good reason for him not to be at the moment.

Just that he’s not there yet.

But it is February.

He actually looks pretty good to me, in terms of shape... especially for a guy whose ability to work out was limited..

Ben chatted with the Pittsburgh-Post Gazette's Ron Cook this weekend:

"It was a good report. I got to bypass the tennis ball throwing for a month and go right to the football. Still going to be about two & a half-three months until I get total clearance from the doctor but we are doing good!

"It felt amazing to throw. It was hard to hold the smile in. Two more throwing sessions while I’m out here in California and then headed back to the 'burgh."

2 to 3 months should put Ben right at the time OTA's get going. Good News!

Don't know jack about QB mechanics but looked like the throw was smooth and easy.

4.101 Audric Estimé, RB, Notre Dame
5.141 Matt Lee, C, Miami
5.142 Jalyx Hunt, Hybrid S/LB/Edge, Houston Christian
7.240 Judge Culpepper, DL, Toledo

Hopefully he'll ease into the season with some short tosses to The Switzinator.
It will definitely be short if he catches it. 2 feet and a cloud of dust.

Is Switzer still on the roster?

I assume "no restrictions" would mean he'd be allowed to uncork 70-yard bombs. But I hope he waits a few more months until camp before he starts firing fastballs.

It's also interesting that he was fighting a smile. Maybe reading too much into it, but it struck me not as a guy who was happy/surprised his elbow was much better than he feared, but rather an elbow that felt better than it has in several years.

Or he was just mugging for the camera. Yeah. You're reading into it.

No, he wasn't mugging for the camera. He actually said "I was trying really hard not to smile".

he wasn't even smiling, and didn't say anything in the clip. Where did you read he said that?

Cook reported this an hour or so ago too, same context. He's so happy to be able to throw the ball.
