Married in 2011. When was our last Super Bowl win? To bad he didn't get married after he retired.

“Being a fan is fine, but there is a line you can cross that makes it really unhealthy,” said Ken Yeager, PhD, a mental health expert in the department of psychiatry at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
That's the first thing I thought. Why bear your soul now? This will be a topic all year and his rape allegations will definitely come back to be part of the discussion. Ben loves the drama. He's probably missing the spotlight after being out for the year and the Brown shit finally going away. Only way to keep this from being a daily distraction is to resign Brown. Yeesh!
Howard Griffith had to resort to chop-blocking him during the 1997 AFC Championship Game. An incredulous Kirkland asked Griffith, “Why do you have to use cheap tactics like chop-blocking?” Griffith replied “Why do you have to be a 300-pound linebacker?”

I'm sure the national media will treat Ben gently the same way they treated Favre with his alcoholism

In his defense, the "virtual conference" in question was a Christian symposium also attended by Coach Tomlin, and Ben was speaking in the context of having let his faith falter early in his career before rediscovering it in 2010. Context is a good thing.

Here is the link to his talk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=322WHjRzyLs there were more than Tomlin and Ben there. Wolf and Tunch and Hurdle were there as well. I got this conference invite as an ad in a game I am wasting my time on. I should have posted it.
To quote Tyrion Lannister "Never forget what you are, the rest of the world will not. Wear it like armor and it can never be used to hurt you".
I applaud Ben. Instead of running from his past, it looks like he's using it to help people.
No one is going to judge you for looking at some porn or having a couple of drinks. But if you are using porn as a substitute for being with a real person or if you cant get through the day without a lot of drinks- its a problem. Someone who has gone through it has to have the courage to tell someone struggling with it- and he did.
It is.Context is a good thing.
Too bad a large majority of media ignores it completely most times in their “reporting”.
Aside from that, good for Ben for having the courage to speak his truth.
Those who may try to tear him down for it will only be revealing their flaws & bias.

Good for Ben and don't expect anything less from the media
The odds of there actually being a football season are slim to none at the moment...so Ben baring his soul just now is fine.

It's not looking good.
Only took 3 weeks back in my office before someone had symptoms so they shut the office back down until they find out the test results.
Even if that test comes back negative, damage has been done merely by the chaos of the possibility. Don't know what to expect from my company going forward.
I'm not overly concerned about catching it, chances of something terrible happening are slim, but I have asthma and I don't like anything screwing with my lungs so I'd rather not catch it. Plus I have an open court case regarding custody of my son and I do not want additional complications.
It's still possible come mid August we might find the summer did have a positive effect, we haven't hit July yet. Having my doubts at this point though.

Ben said "It's cool to be a Christian and be an athlete." Right on, I believe and encourage that.
He has matured significantly since the early years of his football career.
haha Cowboys fans got beat down by all those years of .500 football and 1 playoff win post '96 SB thru 2013 so for the most part they have become tolerable.CORE-TEN wrote: ↑Fri Jun 26, 2020 5:38 pmMust be tough being a steelers fan in Irving. . .Havoc wrote: ↑Fri Jun 26, 2020 3:30 amIt's not looking good.

Plenty of Steelers fans in this area, since, well, we are everywhere.
Lots of fans from other teams in DFW too due to so many people having moved here from other states.
I do remember once last year or the year before sitting at a sports bar wearing a Steelers cap and someone said about my cap, "It hurts to even look at that" LOL He was a Cowboys fan who had lived thru the 70s and that wound had not healed

Debauchery is the breeding ground of raw greatness.
Ben has been Yoko'ed and relgioned.
Not at all good things as far as greatness is concerned.
Both of those deal in being average and accepting mediocrity
Not impossible to succeed again but its gonna be harder

I’m not religious at all but I commend Ben for finding some balance in his life. He was in his 20s, young, dumb and full of cum and rich. Plus famous. Shit was probably coming at him fast. He’s a family dude now and sees the bigger picture. Good for him.

It is; that's true.
More my point was that his being hung out to dry prior to Draft Day 2010 by the Douchebag Art II, contributed to Ben somewhat losing his edge. I really did, and perhaps still do, that he was a guy we could count on to make that winning drive, as in SB XLIII, when he was a jagoff.

I totally believe Ben being bung out to dry by Art II was a major reason for that edge Ben had diminishing or appear to diminish. Getting your legs cut out from under you by your employer is a mountain to get over.

I'm inclined to agree that the events of that offseason humbled Ben and took away a measure of his invincibility, one could argue Ben was making that winning drive in the Super Bowl of 2010-11 season, if not for Kemo von Mendenhall.swissvale72 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 29, 2020 10:20 amIt is; that's true.
