Go Ravens???
Re: Go Ravens???
TEs and FBs involved in the running game. Pulling linemen/counters. Play action. Multiple formations. We've abandoned everything and you saw all of that tonight from both teams marching up and down the field. It's pretty much spread formation, single back and throw it 5 yards in 2 seconds or less. That's our whole offense. Why? Who thinks that's a good idea? Can any of the press ask some hard questions so we have a clue what's going on? Our offense has to be damn near perfect for 10+ play drives the entire game to score points and win. That's not realistic.
Howard Griffith had to resort to chop-blocking him during the 1997 AFC Championship Game. An incredulous Kirkland asked Griffith, “Why do you have to use cheap tactics like chop-blocking?” Griffith replied “Why do you have to be a 300-pound linebacker?”

While everyone is jerking off those two offenses, those were two pathetic defenses. Steelers could probably score 20 on them.

I would prefer they just go to 5 wide and take the TE and RB off the field if we are going to run the offense that has been trotted out the last few weeks. They must throw at all levels though like the 95 superbowl run when Kordell became the 5th WR.RemoAZ wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 4:48 amTEs and FBs involved in the running game. Goodell and Biscotti must be high fiving the shit out of each other
We have enough talent on offense to move the ball like these teams do. There has to be something better than the neutered offense they are running now.Steelperch wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 4:50 amWhile everyone is jerking off those two offenses, those were two pathetic defenses. So with a win next week that should make our week 17 game against the Browns not matter, don’t think we have a chance for number one seed, so should be able to rest dudes last week, I might even consider resting last two weeks some key players.

The motion loop behind Baker doesn’t really do shit to set up a play, but I guarantee every LB, CB, and Safety froze for 1 second.RemoAZ wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 4:48 amTEs and FBs involved in the running game. Ok.....on to Cincy vs the Bungles
With the opportunity to clinch the division, I expect Mikey T to have the boys looking like a fine oiled machine

Please for the love of God play well enough so we’re not embarrassed to be fans.....looking at you Ben, Mike and the offensive line
And fuck you Randy

Yes, beat the Bengals and the division is ours. Could still lose the 2 seed to the Bills, maybe the 3 seed to the Colts.StillerDownSouth wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 4:55 amSo with a win next week that should make our week 17 game against the Browns not matter, don’t think we have a chance for number one seed, so should be able to rest dudes last week, I might even consider resting last two weeks some key players.

I think you jut rest key guys vs Cleveland. You want the potential second home playoff gameGreeksteel wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 4:58 ami know they have the tiebreak but you guys want to sit players 2 weeks out even if kc loses to the saints?

Well if the Saints beat them they still hold the tiebreaker, and very unlikely Atl or Chargers beat them in Arrowhead. I would definitely consider playing Dobbs last game for sure, maybe even last two games. I just don’t think Ben is healthy right now and it feels like coaches know that and are trying to protect him. I know they threw a lot of quick passes early in the season, but not at the rate they are currently.
There isn’t a RB on the Steelers roster that would see the field for either one of these teams.RemoAZ wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 4:55 amWe have enough talent on offense to move the ball like these teams do. It's an NFC game, so they'd still have the tie-breaker.Greeksteel wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 4:58 ami know they have the tiebreak but you guys want to sit players 2 weeks out even if kc loses to the saints?
They have to either lose to BOTH the Saints and Falcons, OR lose to the lowly LAC. I'd guess they are 95% to go at least 14-2 and #1 seed.

In a normal year I would completely agree with this, but this year home field has little to no advantage, and with Ben’s age this could be last hurrah, so I would want him as healthy as possible for one last run.Steelperch wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 5:00 amI think you jut rest key guys vs Cleveland. This is very true, not sure what has happened to Conner, but he is running like a pussy, not like a guy running for a payday. He dances behind the line way too much.Jobu wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 5:00 amThere isn’t a RB on the Steelers roster that would see the field for either one of these teams.RemoAZ wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 4:55 amWe have enough talent on offense to move the ball like these teams do. Win against the Bengals. The next week play the starters for the first half against Indy and then play the starters for a quarter against Cleveland. Then get everyone reps. Empty the bench maybe even give Dobbs the 4th quarter against Indy and Cleveland just for some live reps this season for the two backup QB's before the playoffs start.StillerDownSouth wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 4:55 amSo with a win next week that should make our week 17 game against the Browns not matter, don’t think we have a chance for number one seed, so should be able to rest dudes last week, I might even consider resting last two weeks some key players.
They should be deep in thought about where they are at and what they want to do. The 1 seed is the longest of long shots, even if they could win out which doesn't seem super likely.StillerDownSouth wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 5:00 amWell if the Saints beat them they still hold the tiebreaker, and very unlikely Atl or Chargers beat them in Arrowhead. Then it becomes how important is seeding if you aren't #1? If we don't win out, BUF might very well take the #2 seed.
TEN and IND both have 4 losses....But would the #4 seed be all that bad if it potentially means taking on KC after they have bye, when they might come out with some rust?

KC has to lose 2 games for us to get the top seed. They beat Buffalo and we lost so they would have us on common opponents now. They said during the broadcast that Pittsburgh has a 5% chance at the top seed. We need to win out and the Chiefs lose 2 of 3. That shit ain't gonna happen.LakecrestSteeler wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 4:56 amSaints can beat KC.StillerDownSouth wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 4:55 amSo with a win next week that should make our week 17 game against the Browns not matter, don’t think we have a chance for number one seed, so should be able to rest dudes last week, I might even consider resting last two weeks some key players.

Maybe by playing Dobbs in the Cleveland game they could use that like a live practice to work on the running game, we are going to need to be able to run the ball somewhat decent to have a chance in the playoffs. I would also take a look at Smallwood these last 3 weeks as well, he was an effective runner in Philly and a good pass catcher.

Barry Sanders is the only player I can think of that would gain yards with our current run blocking.StillerDownSouth wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 5:03 amThis is very true, not sure what has happened to Conner, but he is running like a pussy, not like a guy running for a payday.
