13 sacks the last 2 years...
In their current state, I hate everything about this organization.

Can't believe they cut Leglue. I'd much rather have him around vs. Green.
I bet you they will make another trade today. They have to bring in another O lineman.

WTF???
They cut Leglue?
He is far from great but ummm, is way better than that total BITCH Green…
Typical Steelers not wanting to admit a mistake.
Green is wretched. Awfully bad. Unsafe to put on the field.
He will get a QB killed.

Nice pickup.
Denver has a logjam at OLB, so this works for both parties.

This was a good trade adding that vet OLB who has produced I still like Tuszka.
i agree on Leglue he played Guard and center for them actually when he was in the lineup believe the steelers got
their most rushing yards. I agree think you see more shuffling with this roster OL and possible S

Green over Leglue is just stupid. Tomlin is the biggest fraud HC in the league, and will be in Pittsburgh forever.

Malik Reed is a little undersized, but he had a 6.89 3-cone, and you can see some edge bend to him.

It simply defies logic.
We’ve seen Leglue in real games. We’ve seen Green in real games.
While Leglue is no Alan Faneca, he also doesn’t stand out as being horrifically bad like Green.
Tomlin is full of shit.

I didn't love him *that* much. I'd be more excited if Will Parks signs tomorrow.Steelperch wrote: ↑Tue Aug 30, 2022 4:59 pmAre your pants on right now?bradshaw2ben wrote: ↑Tue Aug 30, 2022 4:55 pmMalik Reed is a little undersized, but he had a 6.89 3-cone, and you can see some edge bend to him.

Not sure why this thread is turning into O line bitch fest. Malik Reed is an explosive edge guy. Great get. Steelers likely keeping on 8 active linemen and putting Leglue and others on Practice Squad.

I got a little less hot on him when I realized how small he is... but no doubt he's a great get as a stunt rusher. I saw that the Steelers gave up a 6th and got a 7th and Reed

So, how many games before this guy is demanding a trade over lack of playing time?

We’d find something to bitch about if we signed Joe Montana and the 1990s Dallas O-line in their primes.

Malik Reed has 26 starts over the last two years.
3 years in the league, 45 games, 34 starts.
Thats alot of football under his belt for a guy with 3 years in the league............for an undrafted player
2020 - 16 games, 13 starts. 53 tackles, 8 sacks, 8 tackles for loss and 17 QB hits.
2021 - 14 games, 13 starts. 43, 5, 3, 8.
In 3 years, 4 pass defended, 3 forced fumbles and 2 fumble recoveries.
With his playtime over the last 2 years.......
He should be part of a OLB rotation week 1.
Also,
Would love to see and expect a next step for Alex Highsmith, on his 2021 numbers.... 16 games, 74 tackles, 6 sacks, 15 TFL and 15 QB hits. I can see him getting a few more sacks in 2022. The 74 tackles, 15 TFL and 15 QB hits are all pretty good numbers for your second best OLB.

Nah, this is a very clear upgrade over Avery. This is a very good pickup and all we are asking him to do is what he did in Denver, be the 3rd OLB and keep Highsmith and Watt fresh.
In Denver he had 1,992 snaps the past 3 years, that is the equivalent of two seasons of starting and he is credited with 34 starts the past 3 years.
He had 15 sacks, 30 QB hits, 123 tackles and 15 tackles for loss, with 3 forced fumbles and 2 fumble recoveries
Avery the past 3 years has 3 sacks, 10 QB hits, 61 tackles, 6 tackles for loss with 0 forced fumbles and 0 fumble recoveries. Now, yeah, Avery only started 12 games the past 3 years and only had 522 snaps. I was expecting a more polished player but was shocked at how undisciplined he was when he got on the field. The real truth is that he does not have much experience or playing time, or more importantly production and I can understand why the Steelers cut him.
Reed is like a perfect trade, especially this late in the offseason. They really only traded down to get him, going from their 6th round pick to Denver's 7th. Or to put in another way it is like Denver sent Malik Reed and their 7th round pick to trade up to our 6th round pick. That is mighty fine work by Khan.

This seems like a steal, considering the numbers and play time he has in 3 years.
