So i wondering what going to happen with the Roster?
QB Pickens but possible 2 New QB as backups
RB the top 2 are set IMO but depth behind them could be changed
WR Pickett is going to be there #1 and then you have DJ as your #2 ( My question is if a team gives a good offer do you move him?) and then you have Simms and Austin who is a complete un know behind them there is not Much and might need to be added to.]
TE hopefully Pat is not hurt seriously Gentry is a guy who could be replaced and Hayward seems to have some ability maybe an add needed if Pat is out ?
OL the line played Together all year and Improved but could use a stud or Two on this line and move some one to the depth spots.

I don’t think Pickett will remain WR1

Free agents
Bush - gone
Edmunds - I bet he is back
Sutton - hope he is back
Alualu - retire
Ogunjobi - could go either way
Wormley - same
Kazee - hope he is back
Spillane - position is a mess, would like upgrade
Genrtry - should be back cheap
Allen - bye
Reed - goodbye
Snell - later
Pierre - need better talent at CB
Rudolph - gone

The big question is Canada. They have to fire him. Have to.

I'm sure Mason is gone, but he's better than Trubisky who is probably back.

I would rather both of them are gone.

Trubisky is horrible. His play early in the season and in that Ravens game cost us the playoffs.

Nobody in their right mind would trade for Trubisky or Rudolph.

I literally just read an article that Trubisky regrets signing with the team.

Also likely the team does t want to pay the back-up QB $10 million.

Much better chance they mend the fences with Rudolph.

Bold moves must be made to leap frog the competition! They aren’t even that bold.

-Trade DJ, because you should try to upgrade the WR Corp with size and toughness and get the punt returner in the process. Austin we have to wait and see. Sims was serviceable. I’d keep him for a WR#5, but would not cry if he left.

-Round 1A draft the blindside protector. Lock it down.
-Round 1B Draft Heyward’s replacement.
-Round 2 IMLB
-Round 3 best athlete in the secondary.
-Round 3 DJ’s replacement with hopefully at least a 3rd from his trade.
-Round 4 to the end…draft as usual.

-New OC and offensive philosophy change.

Sutton, Edmunds could be upgraded to better tacklers, but would not cry if they went with them for next season.

Watt and Highsmith locked.
Jack would be fine if they brought him back.
Spillane and Robinson should be upgraded with Bush cut.

DL will be fine with draft at 1A or 1B.

Start over with RB3 and RB4.
Blind side solidified with 1A or 1B.
Draft another TE and hope for a steal upgrade in rounds 4-8.

Needs:

Offense
LT
LG
Backup QB
#2 Receiver

Defense
ILB (possibly 2 of them if Jack isn’t resigned)
DE if they don’t resign Oganjobi (sp)
CB (possibly 2 if you dont resign Sutton. Maybe keep Jackson if he re-structures)
SS (Edmunds is so inconsistent )

Players that shouldn’t be back
I’m cutting DJ and his $18mil
Probably cutting Trubisky but first try to trade him)
Bush - of course is gone tfg
Reed (maybe you keep him for cheap depth but Jamir Jones showed more)
Can’t imagine Mason resigning for anything
Id let Edmunds sign somewhere else - but it depends upon who they can find in FA

William Jackson - he d try to get him to restructure and bring him into camp

Mend fences with Mason when he most likely believed he would at least have the opportunity to compete for the starting job with Ben gone and instead Mitchell Fucking Trubisky wins the job out of camp?

Rudolph was active for what, 2 games and didn't play a single down.

So, nah. I think Mason gets the fuck outta Dodge.

Maybe TJ Watt will pull a Tom Brady and unretire. JJ is passed his prime, but he might be a big help on the D-Line next year, at least as a rotational guy.

Don't believe Flores would be eligible since he's only been in Pittsburgh for one season.

Austin conceivably would be though since he's been with the team since '19. I don't see anything in the rule that'd require him to have held the D Coordinator position for more than one season, but he would have to be hired to the same role (or head coach) for the new team the way I read it.

2020 RESOLUTION JC-2A, from the Rule; :
(ii) The employer-club shall be eligible to receive this Draft choice compensation if:
a. The minority employee hired as a Head Coach or Primary Football Executive has been employed by the employer-club for a minimum of two full seasons; and
b. The minority employee is not the Head Coach or Primary Football Executive of the employer-club and is hired into the same position with the new club. There can be no break in employment between clubs

Might be easier to stay. He isn’t getting a shot to start anywhere.

There area a lot of cities where Rudolph, I personally believe, would have a chance to be a starter. At the very least, he'd be a #2. I 100% believe that we'd be a playoff team right now if Rudolph were the back up and not Trubisky. Had Mason started the season as the starter until Kenny was ready or Mason fucked up enough.

Let's see what happens with him. You might be surprised. The Steelers have their long term QB. Lots of teams don't have their starter set for next year and don't have the draft capital or cash to upgrade. The Jets and Miami are 2 of them. Carolina, the Colts, the Falcons, the Texans, the Commanders too many more to mention. Rudolph would have given the Jets a much better chance to win today than Joe Fucking Flacco. That I guarantee you.

Josh Dobbs just started two games for a team in a play-off race, so anything is possible with Mason Rudolph.

I guess we'll see but he's a better QB than Mitch Trubisky.

THAT signing was disastrous.

It's time for Trubisky and Rudolph to move on to somewhere else. Since Pickett is qb1 now, you want a backup QB that accepts his role and can mentor Kenny if needed.

I'm 100% sure Rudolph will want out. No way on earth he's back.

Trubisky is different. He lives here in Boca. He has to understand he's never going to start again in the NFL. The guy is awful. He also has a young wife and a baby. Trubisky, I believe, will happily accept the role of an NFL back up.

Too bad he's a terrible QB.

Trubisky isn’t great, but he’s an ok backup. I just think he makes way too much money to stay here. Would rather sign a Jacoby Brisset or Gardner Minshew for half the price.

Going to be interesting to see who they bring in, but Trubisky is just fucking awful. In my mind, he's the reason the Steelers aren't in the playoffs. He also got Watt killed in the Bengals game, where the defense was on the field like 75% of the game.
