You probably don't spend enough time on twitter or SteelersDepot if you have to ask.

He's the Golden Child, that's for sure. I hope he lives up to the billing.
Alex and Dave at Steelers Depot are far from having anointed Kenny and have critiqued him puh-lenty. Not sure where this take is coming from.
Not the writers.. the fanbase is insufferable. I have seen more takes than I can shake a stick at saying stuff like "Kenny is going to be better than Joe Burrow next year!" and "We're going to win the Super Bowl next year when Kenny takes the year 2 jump!" and my personal favoite, "Kenny in year 1 is better than Ben ever was!"

I was kind of saying "QB god" tongue in cheek and used that comparison because Kenny's completion percentage is a stat everyone agrees is his best, yet they also say Allen is too inaccurate.to be successful.

FWIW, there are only maybe 3-4 posters here who are super into Kenny without reservation and they are mild in comparison to the casuals I encounter.

Right now my FA target for ILB is Lavonte David.

Would rather not lock us into someone whose team didn’t want him long term, and this draft class is bad at the top at ILB. In the mean time, just want someone that isn’t actively bad.
I think he's close to done. Big drop off in his play recently.

David Long might represent the best value at LB. What's your take on him?

i haven’t paid much attention to long. Hot take would be ‘if he’s worth having, why did his team let him walk?’

The good (Lavonte) answer for that is ‘they’re blowing up their championship D because cap hell and he’s too old to be a part of the next relevant team’. David was a PFF 85 last year, and had more TFL than our three LBs combined while still being better in coverage than any of them (while yes, much worse than he used to be).

That said, long seems fine if he’s cheap. PFF has him in the 70s, vs i think they had Jack as like a 35.

Part of my thought process was liking the 2024 draft class at ILB (along with day 3 in 2023), so a stopgap ILB has appeal to me, where Long is probably wanting a long deal.

I was going to say some of the Kenny Ball Juggling Crew (KBJC) have quite a bit of shit to talk about Allen and his turnovers but also applaud Kenny for “taking care of the football” on his way to not throwing more than a single TD all season in any game he played.

Does anyone from the KBJC remember Benjamin Todd Roethlisberger? Because Allen is the closest thing to Ben in the league right now IMO.

Dude there is a well known poster here during Ben’s final year assuring us he would sign a 3 year extension. C’mon.

Fans say dumb stuff and it sure as fuck only isn’t about Kenny Pickett.

Josh Allen looks to have regressed this year. Was it because Daboll left? Probably but no 2 ways about it, Allen took a step back this season.

His team was the odds on favorite prior to week 1 to win it all and they barely beat Skylar Thompson, then got destroyed by Joe Burrow and company.

Gonna be interesting to see what happens with the Bills going forward.

Well, they need two ILBs. At least. I think the hyped ILB names today won't necessarily be the top selections on the board come the draft. The amateur draft community at large generally favors downhill ILBs and NFL teams (except for those living in the stone age) favor guys who can play backwards/not have to come off the field in passing situations. Like, a certain Alabama LB is not going as high as advertised right now and I have my doubts about the other big name from Oregon.

I would envision 2023 ILB as:
(1) Free agent (coverage green dotter)
(2) Mark Robinson (thumper)
(3) Spillane
(4) Mid round draft pick.

Assuming Midround flops, can take a shot higher in 2024.

Allen had a serious elbow injury and played through it. Can't have been fun in the cold if it was still bothering him. He'll be fine.

Ahhhhhhh……yes, the comment sections are much rosier than is warranted. Absolutely.

I don’t know what others think, but I’m a big fan of Alex Kozara’s analysis. Dave can be annoying, but the dude knows his shit.

My issue with David is age - He just turned 33 yesterday.

There are a few names out there at ILB, though.
