Thursday Night
Thursday Night
Yuuuuuuuuge game
The high flying Patriots offense comes to town led by the two-headed QB combo of Bailey Zappe and Mac Jones.
They’re coming off an impressive performance against the Chargers that saw them score a Blutarsky on offense and accumulate an amazing 257 total yards, 13 first downs and 109 yards passing.
If we couldn’t contain the prolific attack of the Cardinals, we’ll be hard pressed to contain this scary Patriots offense.
Incredibly we are still the 5th seed in the AFC playoff standings. That in itself is mind boggling, yet a win Thursday against a talented, genius-led Patriots team would further cement our place as the 5th seed through 13 glorious games.
Many of you are probably excited about the possibility of punching a ticket to the dance. Many of the same people will proclaim “you never know what’ll happen if we get in.”
That’s where you lose me, no pun intended. I know what’ll happen. Anyone who can take off their rose colored Homer glasses for just a few seconds can see what'll happen. Another fucking embarrassing and painful to watch playoff loss.
To expect anything different you are either a Tomlin supporter, incredibly naive, or just plain fucking stupid.
Do I want them to win Thursday? Of course I do. Do I expect a win? Ha. Nope. #becauseTomlin
This team is so stupid, so undisciplined, so lost, that they have no business being an AFC playoff team. They don’t. They just suck. And suck bad.
Mason Cole should be booed off the field if that fucking dunce HC continues to allow this jerkoff to snap the ball at the feet of our QBs in shotgun.
Our special teams “ace” was a complete fucking idiot last week. Killebrew is an example of how poorly prepared and coached this team is….
We have a dipshit WR celebrating a TD down 21 to the fucking 2-10 Cardinals. How embarrassing. Such a bad look, but a look I’ve grown accustomed to because our Coach is a fucking absolute dope.
The defense allowed a shitty Cardinals team to go 99 goddamn yards for the go ahead TD following the pathetic 4th and goal failure.
I fucking seriously hate this team. It’s not fun to watch them. Ever. Crazy me but I kinda thought the Cardinals game would be an entertaining win, not an asskicking but a good solid win where we as fans enjoyed most of it. WRONG
In closing, I can’t wait for this POS season to be over. Only thing that’s happened that I’ve truly enjoyed is:
Beating the Ravens
Firing Canada
And watch Tomlin further solidify his standing as a “game day dumb fuck.”

I enjoyed watching Jibbs leave his shades on last week even after the dark clouds came in.
Looked cool as fuck as he stood there clueless.

Jibba Jabber’s offense hasn’t scored more than 7 1st quarter points in 84 consecutive games. An NFL record by far. A historic amount of “easin in”. We are lucky to have him.
Money quote!Such a bad look, but a look I’ve grown accustomed to because our Coach is a fucking absolute dope.

This is unbelievably racist.
"We, as an offensive collective were off today, and certainly, he's a component of that,"
Now that’s disturbing!Benny2Kenny wrote: ↑Tue Dec 05, 2023 6:35 pmI can see the entire Patriot team masturbating in unison in a single file line.
They will then methodically step forward to a kneeling Tomlin.
Then, one at a time, each will machine gun several thick white ropes directly down his throat.
That's how I see the game going.

For me, it's simple. I don't necessarily "expect" a particular playoff result, but I'd sure as FUCK rather see my team participating in the tournament than staying the fuck home and our being treated to watching teams that we don't give a fuck about.
So go out fly fishing, go sell beachwear at the haberdashery or whatever else you might rather do than watch Steeler football.
Me? I'm going to be watching Thursday night....hoping we come out with a W, regardless of how many yards we gain, or point we score...and I'll be happy AF if we do. And....I'll be even happier AF if Steelers are still playing football on the second weekend of January....even at the risk of their losing big.

I think Tomlin is secretly coaching the Penguins power play.
Is there something in the water in this town which causes ownership to hang onto coaches well past their expiration date?fractalsteel wrote: ↑Tue Dec 05, 2023 7:11 pmI think Tomlin is secretly coaching the Penguins power play.

Rooting for losses and watching losses are two diff things
I don’t root for losses
If losses come, I hope with each embarrassing one it gets Tomlin closer to being gone for good

We need a lot of losses and more discord coming out of lockerroom
We need it blown up!!
Some guys will be available this off-season
Johnson, Bienamy…….
Tired of doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Insanity
The players talking out about said players coach is the perfect time to throw gas on this abortion of a team
Swiss was the vinnie pie good at least?

Yeeeaaahhh, here's the thing, Jizz (may I call you Jizz? Back in my day it would've been 'Mr. Mop' if we hadn't formally been introduced yet
) ...
You just composed the best SF post of the year above, well written and I agree with every word about the sad state of this team.
But Swiss is right: there's a flaw in your (and my) premise. If there's anything Art ll has in common with his far greater ancestors it's his familiarity with the concept of the 'infalibility' of the Pope, and seeing as Swiss is wise beyond anyone else here in the mysterious inner workings of Steelerdom, I 100% trust & fear he is correct --- Like the Pope, there's no way MT is ever going to be canned, maybe short of the entire organization first being fired and the stadium demolished. Then maybe?

We want to thank Mike for an incredible run as head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers. (Insert yada yada yada)
Both Mike and the Steelers are looking to fresh new starts and we’ve decided to……..

I often have to let people know why I chose that screen name
It was to pay homage to the amazing Stillers battles between KC and IC
KC would often use the term to describe IC’s job at a make believe adult store

And Swiss old friend, hang in there brother -- may you have many many more seasons out in the crappy Pittsburgh weather cheering on these dumbass Steelers!
My Dad was a season ticket-holder from the late 40s until we moved to California in the 60s. He told us every story about the 'Same Old Steelers' ... I even remember him griping about the frustratingly predictable Head Coach Walt Kiesling and "Hey diddle diddle, Rogel up the middle!" (hey, maybe things haven't changed much
)
Through all those years of sleet and snow he made it to nearly every home game plus the annual road trip to Cleve ... Never got to see them win a damn thing, that is, until Noll, Brad and the wonderful, glorious 70s finally took us to the promised football land

I’m ready for the Mitch Trubisky story arch to be complete. In all honesty I’m pretty confident the next 5 games are Mitch’s last chance to see NFL action. Maybe a CFL stint or he goes off into coaching, but legitimately his lost shot to catch the attention of someone to show that he still has something to offer even as a backup.
With what he makes now? He’s likely to be cut and who is dumb enough to dump the money into him that we have?
He’s got a host of issues but I will say our offensive line is playing better than they were when Mitch was at his worst.
He’s more athletic than Kenny which is mind blowing to me.
He doesn’t need to light the world on fire like Purdy or Browning, he just needs to be smart and push the ball downfield.
Who knows? I’m grasping here fellas.
All I know is the All 22 is coming out on Kenny’s first half against the Cardinals and it looks miserable (AGAIN).
Let’s see it Mitch! Get us to the post season and maybe you earn a deal somewhere else.

I disagree with this. Mitch has "pedigree" (top 5 pick) and that counts for a TON in this league. He'll continue to bounce around in this league as a backup or 3rd stringer. He's only been in the league for 6 years so he's still considered fairly young. Not a bad gigOrangesteel wrote: ↑Tue Dec 05, 2023 9:03 pmI’m ready for the Mitch Trubisky story arch to be complete. In all honesty I’m pretty confident the next 5 games are Mitch’s last chance to see NFL action. Maybe a CFL stint or he goes off into coaching, but legitimately his lost shot to catch the attention of someone that he still has something to offer even as a backup.
With what he makes now? He’s likely to be cut and who is dumb enough to dump the money into him that we have?
To limp into the playoffs & get embarrassed & blown up in that game by the better-coached competitor is no fun. This is supposed to be fun, isn't it?
As Steeler fans, the “entertainment” of watching these games is constantly evolving
And it’s not evolving in a good way
Being tortured and feeling disgusted at the product on the field is not my personal idea of being entertained
I’d rather sit next to the fire in a comfy chair and read STD’s book “How I consistently beat the market.”

Well, we know how you spend your time on the internetBenny2Kenny wrote: ↑Tue Dec 05, 2023 6:35 pmI can see the entire Patriot team masturbating in unison in a single file line.
They will then methodically step forward to a kneeling Tomlin.
Then, one at a time, each will machine gun several thick white ropes directly down his throat.
That's how I see the game going.

Perhaps, it’s just that every backup QB currently starting in the NFL:Deebo wrote: ↑Tue Dec 05, 2023 9:05 pmI disagree with this. Zappe
Minshew
Browning
Levis
Dobbs
Devito
Flacco (check out his YPA against the Rams this last weekend!)
minus maybe that asshat playing for the Jets has shown more talent as a backup that Mitch has maybe ever shown. Mitch has essentially sucked for 4 straight years now. He sucked as our starter and he actually didn’t show a damn thing in Buffalo because he didn’t play in any meaningful games. He became buddy buddy with Josh Allen and Allen was pumping up Mitch’s value as free agency approached before last season.
Sure he has “experience” but very little of it means anything anymore. And none of those guys were top 5 picks. I’m not arguing against you because we won’t know until he’s off our roster, but the shine is off the diamond with this guy.
I am hoping he gets us to the dance.

Tomlin isn’t getting fired.
When Mike Tomlin leaves, it will be on his terms.

I'm looking forward to TNF and a bounce back game.
The Steelers may have a lot of issues to overcome but I'm not giving up on them.
I hope Mitch has a good game and nobody else gets injured.
Steelers win 20 to 10.

Secure NHALS early and then go deep into the PLAYOFFS.

The best outcome on TNF:
*Mitch looks notably better than Kenny has this season, further accentuating how bad KP really is.
*Rookies/young players ball out.
*We still end up losing due to some sort of incompetence from Tomlin that's too obvious to ignore.

No dude it won't.
If Tomlin has some losing seasons (more than one) he'll probably leave on his own.
The NHALS is alive and well this year.
