Weather Delay: Who REALLY benefits??

Post by swissvale72 » Sun Jan 14, 2024 3:21 pm

Just as cold, maybe just as snowy tomorrow. Biggest difference is the wind.

Based on all the posts of the superiority of Josh Allen's arm strength, I'm thinking that the wind would have likely made the Steelers more one-dimensional than the Bills. Therefore, I don't think, in terms of game/field conditions, that Steelers are any worse off.

I'm gonna go, again, with Tomlin's take of both teams being equally affected by the conditions.

Some of you more analytical/meteorolgical types may have a more informed opinion on this. If so, please share.

For me....I was all set with 1pm kickoff today, had a fresh 4-pack of 16 oz. IPAs in the fridge. Just weird doing this on a Monday afternoon. That said, I'm now recently retired and feeling like I'm fuckin' exiled to my house, weekedays no dif from weekends, etc.

At any rate, I tend to think if anything, Steelers might benefit a little from the delay.

I was reading on Yahoo that if the weather doesn't improve, it's very possible the game could be moved again but I have no idea how that could possibly work out.

I guess if the Steelers/Bills were moved again to Tuesday or something, the winner could play their next game the following Monday so we'll see.

This would be a stretch, but wouldn't be totally surprised if the Gov tries to do that, that the NFL tell her to go fuck herself and DOES move the game to Cleveland...or....hahaha....Pittsburgh!!!

they should have moved the game to Cleveland on Thursday afternoon.

They've fucked up the AFC schedule now on prep. they're going to have to move around the game next weekend

I know a lot of folks are giving the governor a lot of shit for this, but ESPN reported that CBS had been saying when they were camera testing prior to the game, the network didn't believe their cameras would be able to capture the action or the players.

With weather that fucking bad, how do you play in it? If the viewing audience can't actually watch the game, I'm not sure how the players can actually play a game of football.

Wind and cold is one thing, but white out conditions along with that? I'm glad they moved it. I just hope we all can actually watch the game when it happens.

I think part of this is just a natural reaction to the media treating every weather event like the goddamn apocalypse.

We've had schools close 3 days in the past week due to weather forecast yet ended up with an inch on the ground with no road issues at all.

If anything ...
It gives Minka another day and the rest of our guys.
Robert's, Cam....najee knee...

So too the Bills and that banged up #2 WR.

But another day for Minka...
Some more coordinating with getting Minka back in on top of Kazee back... how the Secondary will get shuffled...
While keeping Rowe heavily involved...
I would think Pat Peterson would see less snaps...
But know how Tomlin loves his vets

Minka and Kazee at S.
Rowe at nickel.

Depth chart has Porter and Levi at CBs.

We may see Porter and Peterson at CB.

Has PP played on that right side much?

I agree that just because it's cold, school shouldn't be canceled but It probably has to do with ice on the roads and lawsuits for buses and shit like that. Silly but the schools are protecting themselves.

What is going on in Buffalo is very different than what is happening in KC. Buffalo is expecting a shitload of snow today (obviously they've already had a ton) and more tomorrow, when the game is set to be played.

Buffalo is offering to pay people to come to the stadium and shovel snow. This is one helluva precarious situation.

Oh don't get me wrong, I'm not saying these are the wrong decisions and hindsight is obviously 20/20.

I'm just saying that it's natural for people to start rolling their eyes when the media consistently cries wolf and/or predicted "emergencies" don't end up happening

If Steelers win, they will play Baltimore on Sunday.
If the Bills win, they will host KC on Sunday.

This has been announced.

You can say Buffalo got screwed by this because if they win, KC has two extra days to prepare.

Didn’t really screw us because for all we know we might have played Baltimore on Saturday anyway. And Baltimore has already been resting such that an extra day doesn’t really matter IMO.

Any hint from the coaches that this is true?

Because Rowe has played quite well.

We watched alot of Pat Pete trailing and chasing his assignments this year. Seen more of the back of his jersey than I had anticipated when he signed. Thought he had more left.

Maybe, probably....he has really worked with JPJ and honed the kids skills as his positive contributions to 2023 season.

Maybe he stabs one of Allens wayward passes and I am wronged with happiness.

But Rowe deserves field time. His play solidified a vacant safety room and made plays all over the b field.

Peterson 17 games, 42 tackles, 11 passes defended. 2 int.

Rowe 3 games, 29 TACKLES, 2 pd and 1 int...
What's that translate to over 17 games.

What I’m curious about here is where are all the climate change/global warming assclowns?

Every winter season it’s crickets… Now it’s too cold, windy and snowy for a football game?

Then, when summer season is in full swing you’ll see them all emerge from under their rock after their winter coagulation…, like a fungus.

Make up your fucking minds.

You realize a weaker polar vortex...which allows colder air to leak from the poles down to the middle latitudes more often...is a symptom of an overall warming climate.

Maybe in 100,000 years there will be another ice age.

For now just enjoy the relative warm weather.

That should totally be a rule

If the home team can’t make a few snow plows happen it gets moved to the visiting team

If the wind would die down I'd say the Stillers benefit.

I don't think the Bills can withstand Mason's aerial attack.
