Bmac launched a rumor a playmaker in the works
Can we couple this with Kaboly's report from today that they are still looking for a WR?

My guess is Sutton and that would be rad. I think he’s got some seasons left and is coming off a great year.

Don't agree with the great year part. I know some Lions fans and they thought Sutton got roasted far more often than he played well.Orangesteel wrote: ↑Mon Apr 29, 2024 10:00 pmMy guess is Sutton and that would be rad. I think he’s got some seasons left and is coming off a great year.
The times I watched (which admittedly wasn't all that often) Sutton was not impressive.
His stats back that up too. Sutton, in a contract year with the Steelers had 13 passes defensed. Last year he had 6 in his first year with the Lions.
Sutton's last year in Pittsburgh, he had 3 INT's and only had 1 last season in Detroit.
To be fair, Sutton did have the most tackles of his career in his first year with the Lions, but the fans I talked to were not thrilled with Sutton's performance and this was well before the DV accusation.
Would I like Sutton back in Pittsburgh at a decent price? Absolutely. I think he'd help the Steelers no doubt, but I was someone that argued Sutton was overrated and was concerned the only special season he had as a Steeler was a contract year.
That's always telling.

I hope they are.
The depth behind Pickens and Roman Wilson leaves a lot to be desired.
Calvin Austin hopefully still has some upside, but Van Jefferson is pretty meh and Quez Watkins will always have issues with drops.
I most definitely hope the front office isn't done upgrading the WR position.

Think mention of Sutton is Courtland, not Cam
Idk though

Sutton? Cam or Courtland?
Although I wouldn’t describe either as an “explosive playmaker”.

Correct. Courtland.

Sutton would make a decent #2 WR, but you're right, I wouldn't call him a big playmaker. 10 TDs last year definitely eclipses DJ's production in that department, though.
Nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile...
Benjamin Albright seemed to be hinting Courtland here...

But then a Broncos beat reporter stated the Broncos have no plans to trade Courtland and was shutting it down...

So who knows.

Tiny hands, smaller heart.
Hoping we're not giving up too much. Draft capital is going to be important if we're going to be franchise QB hunting in the near future.

If I'm going to start a trade rumor I'm attaching a name to it and it's going to involve one of my favorite wrs.

I’d rather have Jauan Jennings

Lots of internet chatter right now that it’s not Sutton.
Its DK Metcalf.

Saw another one that it is Tee Higgins. People are just throwing shit out there now hoping to right.

DK completely changes the offense. That becomes SB contender stuff there unless Tomlin fcks it up. But I just can't see the Seahawks doing that.

The Steelers just drafted 8 starters ….6 - 8 C2s……over the last two drafts
Trade away a 3rd or less ?? Ok
Trade a 1st or 2nd ?? I’d rather see Roman Wilson get more rookie snaps and try to add another WR in the draft next year

DK Metcalf is only 26. Seems like he's been around forever. Would give the Steelers a lot of big, physical targets.bradshaw2ben wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2024 2:39 amWell, that would be something.Orangesteel wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2024 2:32 amLots of internet chatter right now that it’s not Sutton.
Its DK Metcalf.
Signed through 2025. Not huge cap hits in 24 or 25, but not insignificant either.

I can't imagine the Steelers have the draft capital for that, even if they eviscerate their 2025 draft. They'd have to trade a player plus picks, and that player would have to be pretty good. And likely young.TTP wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2024 12:52 pmDK Metcalf is only 26. Seems like he's been around forever. Alex Highsmith? Najee Harris? Justin Fields? Throw in Dan Moore?
Well Bmac certainly jizzed all over my night as I kept hitting refresh and googling everything from “Deebo Samuel Steelers” to “Broncos Message Boards” and everything in between.

I don't recognize these Steelers.
