As fucked up as this org is, I can't imagine them spending that money on DK without a solid plan for QB in place.
This kind of reminds me of last year's attempt to get another WR - Steelers aren't quite ready to spend top level cash so they hmm and haw around while our options dwindle. In the end we get a combo of washed up, mildly successful, and unproven players.

Amazingly, once Wilson got in, he was able to turn that ragtag group into a 400+ yard win over Cincy. However, after that happened, the Tomlin / Smith brain trust put handcuffs on Russ and after an underwhelming revenge win over the Browns, we proceeded to bottom out and lose the rest of our games without ever scoring more than 18 points again.

From where I sit, it really doesn't matter who we end up with under center because Tomlin & Smith will only let them hand off, throw short and maybe once or twice a game try a long bomb. That makes the DK decision even more head scratching since they have no idea who will throw to him 4 times a game.

That said, I'm in the group that just doesn't like the jagoff Rogers has turned into (or maybe always was). He is a full blown locker room cancer and with only encourage Pickens to increase his jagoffery.

If Russ is willing to come back after being held back the last 6 games of the season, then that would be my first choice. No he can't still make all of the throws but, given the permission, he can make a of of them. Hell, I'd even take Mason Rudolph back over Rogers.

Time to sit back, grab some popcorn and watch how this shitshow plays out.
Rudolph has been mentioned. He played well last 3 regular season games of '23, he's 6'5", wouldn't cost a lot. Sign him up and move on.
Agreed. Get Mason back for a 3 year $20 million contract with $10 million guaranteed and see what happens. Maybe he can be our new Bubby Brister, who damn near lead that 1989 team to the AFCC. Mason would take that money, and the Steelers would be in good shape to draft a rookie in 2026.

Would anyone here be really surprised if Tomlin was dumb enough to trade this years #21 and future draft capital to move up and get Primes kid. I know i wouldnt be.
Ohhh I disagree, Greek

I think trading up for Prime’s kid would be a fantastic move.

Steelers are a team without a pulse.

A lifeless franchise.

Shedeur (and his dad) resurrected not 1 but 2 beyond dormant, bottom feeder programs in colorful Prime fashion

If the Steelers trade up for Sanders I’m all in.

Appointment TV

Win or lose, they’ll be interesting maaaaybe even….

ENTERTAINING

Send draft capital to the Falcons for Kirk fucking Cousins?

Well, my golf game has nowhere to go but up

Feels a little like the Steelers just decided there were a handful of mostly "meh" guys and decided to take the last guy standing after everyone else signed their guy.

Actually not a bad move. I still don't think they will bring in Rodgers because the risk of him going rogue like everyone has mentioned. So Rodgers to NY.

That leaves Wilson. Now if CLE signs him, that would be comical. LOL, even Dobbs is off the market. Maybe they pull a blockbuster trade for Kenny!

Or maybe Rodgers to NYG and Wilson to CLE would pave the way for a trade for Joe Milton. Anyway, team will be like watching paint dry again so I think a lot of us are hoping for maximum drama.

If they did that, they would quickly sign another journeyman and reach for a qb in the early rounds, sending Mason to third string again.

My honest opinion is we should have moneyed up for Justin Fields. I think his best football was ahead of him in Pittsburgh. Can’t say whether it will happen in New York. Probably not, it’s the Jets. Frankly, I never wanted to bench Fields. If he played a whole season, we would have a better idea of his upside.

And I wasn’t surprised to see Russ start off very strong and crash and burn in the last 4 games, although the defense, both lines, and coaching were a big part to the meltdown.

I like a real running QB (Fields) with a strong arm at age 25. I don’t want a 5’10” QB at age 36, or a Hall of fame QB at age 41. So no, I’m not wanting to break the bank for senior citizen Aaron Rodgers.

I do like Kyle Allen as a backup, so no doubt he will also be gone. Mason Rudolph is an adequate replacement.
