Best Teams of the Past 25 Years
Kind of surprised the 2004 Steelers made the list. Not that surprised where the 2008 team ended up

2011 Niners would have won the SB if he would have stuck with Alex Smith.
Based on his own criteria, he '11 Packers were better than the '10.

Barnwell is a notorious Steelers and Big Ben hater. Always has been.
He is wrong on his write up of the '04 Steelers. They were not 2-1 with Maddox when Big Ben came in, they were only in week 2 after having barely scraped by a dogshit Raiders team by a last second field goal and then were down 20-0 at home against the Ravens when Ben came in. And he won 14 straight starts in the regular season, not 13.
I don't disagree rating the '04 Steelers over the '05 version, but that '04 team played like shit in the playoffs and should've gotten beat by the Jets before the Patriots took it to us.
The 2007 Patriots are the best team I've ever seen. I don't know if that kind of level of dominance will ever be repeated.

Tommy Gun (LOL) started game 16 so he technically was 2-1, with Ben 13-0 in between Maddox starts.tbsteel wrote: ↑Tue Jul 15, 2025 10:13 pmBarnwell is a notorious Steelers and Big Ben hater. Always has been.

This was a game the Bills needed to win to make the playoffs playing against Steelers backups. They shit the bed badly. It was also Fast Willie Parker's coming out party. He gained 102 yards on 19 carries. I remember being like "Wait, who the heck is Willie Parker?" He only had a handful of carries leading up to the game.
Bar well for the quarter decade team put Garrett ahead of Watt citing made up numbers.tbsteel wrote: ↑Tue Jul 15, 2025 10:13 pmBarnwell is a notorious Steelers and Big Ben hater. Always has been.

Welp... shit. Lol. I forgot about that. The Willie Parker "oh snap this kid can play" game.TTP wrote: ↑Wed Jul 16, 2025 2:56 pmTommy Gun (LOL) started game 16 so he technically was 2-1, with Ben 13-0 in between Maddox starts.tbsteel wrote: ↑Tue Jul 15, 2025 10:13 pmBarnwell is a notorious Steelers and Big Ben hater. But still, Barnwell was wrong in stating they were 2-1 with Maddox when Ben came in. He wrote it up that way basically a small slight of Ben... like that team would have been a great team with Maddox but Ben just took on the reins, which is horseshit. That team would've been lucky to win 8 games with Maddox that year.

I loved the 01 Steelers. I was so excited to watch that defense shut down and punish the greatest show on turf. Fucking choking Korky and Troy Edwards running out of bounds.

but if you subtract Willie Parker's long runs, he's Isaac Redman
