Getting rid of fields is questionable. Getting rid of Russ is laudable.

I believe they would have never brought Russ in if they had gotten Fields first.

For better and/or worse, Tomlin loves and trusts his vet QBs.

We lost Fields when we replaced him with Russ after the first set of games, he didn't trust the coaching staff/FO after that.
