ESPNers on AR to Vikes
Totally their own speculation starting with shefter, now onto Orloski and others Orlovsky has AR as number one for Minnesota, cousins as number two Murray as number three.
Based on nothing coming out of Minnesota nothing coming out of Pittsburgh and certainly nothing coming from Aaron Rodgers. Per Marc Madden earlier this week there's no leaks coming out of the Aaron Rodgers camp, more to the point… Aaron Rodgers has no camp.
I equate my own speculation with the ESPN, so-called experts some of whom changed their mind from one show to the next, like Damien Woody, saying it's a bad idea for Rogers to come back to Steelers on the Greenwell show and then a good idea on the Stephen a Smith show directly following. I'm saying Rogers will be back with the Steelers giving tutelage to Will Haard for the 26 season and either Howard is the man for 27 or a first round dtaftee.

If you are Aaron Rodgers and MIN comes with an offer, why would you ever take PIT?
I know he's a weird dude that has maybe memory-holed McCarthy costing him a couple more trips to the SB, but this seems like a stretch to turn down a SB-contender because you like a few of your new young teammates in PIT.

Arod must to the the Vikes to complete the Farve tour. The same as the Steelers need to sign Flacco

"He's a weird dude," may say it all. He had a good year in Pittsburgh after a pair of very tough years in New York, well-liked by Steelers management, very popular with his teammates, liked the city and his reception. That might all be more important to AR than a change of uncertain scenery in Minnesota. He may also be looking forward to working with Will Haard, and reuniting with McCarthy. If I was a betting man, that's where my money would be..Kodiak wrote: ↑Thu Feb 26, 2026 3:39 pmIf you are Aaron Rodgers and MIN comes with an offer, why would you ever take PIT?

Have the Vikings given up on McCarthy?
That’s the only way Rodgers would have a chance to get a look in Minnesota, and I can’t see that happening after they let Darnold walk to keep McCarthy.
Rodgers is not winning a Super Bowl next year, no matter where he plays.
He is either the Steelers QB or he retires. I think those are his two options.

Mike Tomlin and NHALS - The embodiment of the soft bigotry of lowered expectations.
Aren't the Vikes like a billion dollars over the cap? Won't be able to afford ARod even if there was interest.swissvale72 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 26, 2026 2:56 pmTotally their own speculation starting with shefter, now onto Orloski and others Orlovsky has AR as number one for Minnesota, cousins as number two Murray as number three.

PPG writers are saying PIT believes Rodgers will play with them or not at all. Sounds a lot like wish in one hand, crap in the other....
But, yeah, MIN is $42M over the cap. Would seem impossible to find even $10-15M to pay Rodgers. Most of the guys they'd have to cut or trade look like it would have to come from offense, so maybe we can cross off MIN.

Now the talk, again by ESPNers, is Anthony Richardson to Vikes.

Hope Rodgers to the Vikes has legs, fingers crossed
No serious franchise would want AR back after that awful playoff performance vs Houston thinking he is the answer to winning a playoff game.
But then, Dunce Rooney doesn’t really care about a deep playoff run. He’s happy to be barely better than average, squeak into the playoffs, and hopefully get matched up vs. an even bigger pretender so they can celebrate the new standard around here…

Rodgers to the Vikings makes no sense. Rodgers is not going someplace to be a backup or a true mentor. IF He is going to play at all this season, it’s going to be as the unquestioned starter.
The Vikings are way over the cap and cannot afford him even at a reduced salary. This is all just bloviating a dumb narrative because Farve played for the Vikings and these morons have to fill airtime. If the Vikings wanted Rodgers, they would have taken Rodgers LAST YEAR. Rodgers is not a reclamation project like Daniel Jones or Sam Darnold was for the Vikings. Now Richardson to the Vikings makes sense and fits what they have done in the recent past…
If Rodgers plays in 2026 it’s in Pittsburgh.

You do realize JJ McCarthy was a complete disaster last year, right? Like unbelievably bad.
If Rodgers goes to the Vikings, he starts. No question.
*reserves the right to roots for losses*
And it's a different situation. McCarthy was a question mark last season. Still, given their cap situation, last year might have been they're "all in" shot at a SB so it doesn't make much sense.
MAYBE they can shift things around and buy one more season as a contender. I'm sure there's a way, the question is if they really believe Rodgers is the missing piece. But then why not do it last year? One and done, and then McCarthy would have been the guy going into this season.
A guy like Rodgers can probably still win a SB, but it would take an offense around him like Brady had in TB. Is MIN that team? Maybe. PIT is not.
With a new OL coach, the pass pro is going to have growing pains. Even if the OL is much improved by the end of next season, is Rodgers willing to take the abuse with those growing pains? I just can't see Rodgers wanting to come back to a team where he's going to get hit - a lot - and has no chance of a deep playoff run.
Rodger’s isn’t winning a SB with anyone
