Happy Birthday BB
Happy Birthday BB
Big Ben is 44 today.
Get him to camp...
Shed a few pounds and chuck it around in a better designed offense under MM,
While working in Howard and see what we need to do for 2027 draft.
Use the 12 picks to add pieces to the OL / DL / WR / ILB / CB / S
12 players sticking to the roster will be tuff......
So use a third or 4th if need be to go grab that BPA still hanging in the draft
Look who is still taking snaps the last few years.
Rodgers.
Flacco
Rivers.
Anyway....nice top plays below

It’s a fucking shame that there are Steelers fans out there that don’t understand how great this guy was!Stosh-67 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 02, 2026 10:00 pmBig Ben is 44 today.

Brady, the Manning’s, Brees, Rodgers…all time great QBs. None of them could do what Ben did on a football field, none of them!
The ultimate football player… the ultimate play maker!

I would go to games even when the team was a clusterfuck just because I knew he would put on a clinic, more often than not.
He was a savant unlike most others. A frankenstein of all the greats that came before him with added toughness mental and physical.
It's a shame how the Steelers and NFL PR machines fucked him over.

Imagine Ben in an an offense with an NFL offensive minded coach.
And not the run first, run second, safe at all costs head coach.
Or the "wait till we need Ben to bail us out in the 4th quarter " mindset.
A coach that would use Ben to take an early lead and concstant;ly put pressure on the opposinb team.
Makinging the degense job a little easier as well.........playing with a lead.

How many modern QBs would get punched in the face by Haloti Ngata the Wild Samoan, have blood gushing out of their nose that's obviously broken to bits and come back in the game and win the fuckin thing.
I can't think of many.
I can't think of one in Ben's era or now. Mayfield is a tough customer, but what would he do.
That's some Rocky-level shit.

You gotta go back to Unitas era, I think. I grew up then and when BB came along, his toughness reminded me of Johnny U putting his separated finger back in the joint as he talked to the HC on the sidelines..lollanger wrote: ↑Tue Mar 03, 2026 8:45 pmHow many modern QBs would get punched in the face by Haloti Ngata the Wild Samoan, have blood gushing out of their nose that's obviously broken to bits and come back in the game and win the fuckin thing.

If I could draft any player in history, especially not knowing what the rest of the team looks like, it's Mahomes and then Ben #2 overall.
Ben likely put a mediocre coach into the HOF. I don't know how many players in other sports could claim that.

Great topic, great comments. Ben was just fantastic, once in a generation, and yes terribly underappreciated.
And as far as postseason, so was Brad. We Steelers fans were so incredibly fortunate to watch both of those guys win us 6 rings

Good point about Ben and Terry.
Both had balls, fearless, ice in their veins, not bothered by outside bullshit.
Both the classic winner, when the chips are down, they rise to the occasion and then some.
Ben figured out how to manage the offseason and in-between games too.

I'd actually take Ben over Mahomes - it's close but for me it's Ben. He was tougher than Mahomes by a lot and could make the same crazy plays out if nothing.
The one area where Mahomes is better is scrambling. That said, in part thats because Ben stood in there when things fell apart and still delivered. He looked like an O-lineman when he ran but he was faster than he appeared and if he need to get to the EZ or line to gain, he ran through defenders of all sizes to make it happen.
I'm so glad Cowher came out passing against Indy in the run to 5 as Ben shined on the first 2 drives. And of course the drive in XLIII was simply amazing and topped off with the Santonio catch. Its a shame he didn't get that MVP - Holmes was great but none of that happens without Ben's magic.
