They did the same fucking thing at home a few games ago. This isn’t uncharacteristic. This happens all of the time with this damn team.

Who would think Letang would be the worst defenseman on this team. Guy is a shitbag

I get the defense and letang hate even more..but murray deserves goat status too..all his goals were stoppable shit..especially no 2..that was weak..faked out and shot thru legs on breakaway...1st was ugly whiff by his useless glove.. follws ovie to far and leaves net wide ass open for letang to watch goal scored. I'm not saying a shutout was in order but fuck..mean while holtby makes every save he should make..

I agree bam. But it’s been obvious to me since the Flyers series that we are going to have to win in spite of Murray. Dude doesn’t have it at all. He’s average.

Another blown third period lead. One wonders what Sully is saying to these guys at the second intermission. They take care of business game 3 and tonight, this series is over.

Blown leads. They are really good at that.

Gents, your anger is reasonable and understandable. Now, may I offer some hope?

The Caps need to close out the series on Monday night or face their nemesis again in a winner-take-all game 7 at home.
The Caps will not close out the series on Monday night -- the Pens hate them too much to lay down in their own building.

Moreover, you could make the case (if you wanted) that the Pens could have won the series tonight.
They gave away a 1-goal lead in the 3rd periods of both games 3 and 5 or they would have.

Still moreover, if Dumolin had scored the 4th goal just before the Caps went the other way to score that game ends differently.
Still moreover, if Ollie Maata could hit water with that oar (I mean stick) he was holding it's a tie game.

I'd rather have breathing room going into game 6, but now we will see what separates the Pens from the Caps.
I picked Pens in 6. I now have to go with Pens in 7.

It’s a shit loss. Like I said, tons of guys on this team who are under performing. Brassard is a complete waste. Letang should sit next two games. Who is Conner Sheary?

Feel bad for the guys who are busting their asses. Kris Letang can go fuck himself.

Bam, you might as well keep the faith another 2 to 4 days because the alternative is a steady diet of Pirate baseball until football season.

IF things don't work out for the Pens it will be an interesting off season.
https://www.capfriendly.com/teams/penguins

Letang (early 30s) is scheduled to get $7.25 million for 4 more seasons -- that's actually considered reasonable by today's standards for the Kris Letang of 5-years ago -- I can see the Pens eating some of his contract to move him to free up cap space and reset the defense.

Shultz is 4 years younger and will make $5.5 million for the next 2 seasons -- I can see Shultz being the poor man's Letang on the power play if Letang is moved. Shultz will stay, I believe.

Huntwick is gonzo @ $2.25 million for the next 2 seasons -- with all the issues we've seen so far his playoff absence tells you what Sully & Co. think of him.

Hags will stay 1 more year @ $4 million, I think -- he is valuable on the PK and could be dealt next March if necessary.
I think Brass stays 1 more year @ $3 million with some in season trade value much like he had with Ottawa.

Soon Jake will need to get paid, and Horny has been paid (and will stay awhile given his net presence & grit).
Phil Kessel is 30-something with the next 4 years @ $6.8 million -- I think Phil kept the Pens in the hunt early in the regular season, but at some point I can see JR moving Phil for youth and cap savings.

Did u hear what that fat little fuck Trotz said after the game? He was lobbying for Guentzel to be suspended for his hit on Carlson - comparing it to the Wilson situation.. Hahahahahahaha what a disgrace Trotz and the Capitals are! Absolute zero class on that team.

So? Does this take away from his idiotic penalty in a huge spot of the game?

I don't feel sorry for him, he helped shift momentum.

Letang should be relegated to third pairing and only get 15-17 minutes per game.

Didn't you see how woozy Carlson's arm was after that shot to the head?

8-)

This iteration of the Penguins simply makes too many mistakes, and Murray is still not playing like the Murray of old, to make me feel the same magic of the last two years.

And I still feel, like I did at the beginning of the season, that the losses of a lot of the secondary talent...Kunitz, Daley, Bonino, Cullen, etc...were a lot to overcome, and we didn't do that.

That said...I'm in this until the final horn sounds in an elimination game and the Penguins are trailing.

I never liked the matchup with the caps. I agree with your sentiments, but if Murray stops those two soft glove side goals and letang isn't stupid, it's a completely different outcome, imo. But the Kunitz, Daley, Bonino, and Cullen replacements aren't coming through, Kessel seemed to be injured, and Wilson took out Dumolin. That's too much to overcome, especially when the defense is spotty and Murray is "average to suck." He only had one nice skate save at the beginning of the game IIRC.

Not sure I can stay awake for the monday night game, so I'm not going to be there until the final horn sounds.

Can anyone direct me to a vid of the carlson hit?
