This didn't happen in a vacuum B2B. This is an all too common occurrence with him. He's too conservative when he doesn't have to be and too reckless when he shouldn't be. He played a game of chicken today and he lost. He's just not very good at making optimal decisions and it's costing us.

Game flow???
Guess Tomlin couldn’t use “we don’t live in our fears” because sitting a medically cleared quarterback against the defense with the fewest sacks in the NFL so Ben is healthy for the Patriots is the definition of living in our fears. So horrible

Anyway, after watching another game of horrific safety play and somebody named LJ Fort attempt to cover wide receivers I was content to continue my quest to see Kevin Butler, Tom Bradley, Joey Porter and Jerry O fired but Tomlins decision to sit a medically cleared Ben most of the 2nd half trumps all.

B2B, Ben missed one throw when he came back in. He was fine.

Did Tomlin really say because of his gut feel?

Flow of the game was the exact quote. WTF does that even mean.

I’ll try reusing it in a sentence: Obviously, in a hostile environment, you’re going to need all of your men to step up and not live in their fears, and with both teams in the second half pretty much eliminating splash plays, there was not much of a “flow of the game” to speak of, so we chose to stay put. When they went ahead “my gut feel” told me it was time to bring Ben back. Does that help?

How is anyone still behind this idiot coach, This defense is a joke can't make a stop when needed. I sorry but they have not added one single impact FA to this defense.

Haden, Hilton say Hi!

But yeah Burnett is a gigantic Piece of Shit! Edmunds is trending to Artie Burns status and ILB is a Glaring Need with the loss of Shazier. Not one ILB can cover. Or tackle a RB.

you absolutely have to play Ben,2 game losing streak and flirting with losing the season or division,if hes fucked for next week its not because he plays that second half, you gotta get out of there with a win.

Yep....And, you know, Dobbs might be able to beat CIN. So if Ben was out the next 3 weeks, at least you have a shot to still go to the playoffs.

I'd fire Tomlin, tomorrow. It won't happen, but then he wouldn't still even be the HC on any other team (save CIN).

Did anyone consider B2B likes to be a contrarian most of the time, just to get more involvement from others on this site?

What's the old saying? There's no such thing as bad publicity.

That's what I'm going with, because he seems too smart for any other serious explanation.

I'm glad people are really seeing Tomlin for what I've always known him to be. When it comes to looking and sounding good, he's a champ. When it comes to coaching a suscussful NFL team, he's a chump. Always has been.

Tomlin's true persona is slowly being revealed to all.

Never liked this guy as our Head coach and just not sure what needs to happen for this team to lose his job .

Haden and hilton are good players but neither are playmakers this defense needs.

TJ Watt makes plays. Front seven the last few weeks has been pretty good at tipping passes and getting pressure. The issue has been on the back-end; QBs are getting the ball out in 2 seconds or less. Need to play aggressive on defense knowing that it isn't about being afraid to give up the big play but instead about living with giving up the big play if it means making splash plays yourself.

OK, @Jacob_Klinger_ reports Ben Roethlisberger was asked “What did you have to do to get yourself back in the game?”
His response: “I was just waiting for coach to tell me when to go.”

So 1) Tomlin didn’t tell him to 2) Tomlin’s call 3) We don’t know 4) I guess not?

This is the QB sneak from last year all over again...you can play, but you just sit there with your thumb up your ass waiting for the green light?

I don't believe Tomlin, and I don't believe Ben. But what I think I know is if Ben wants to be out there, he's in the game....

Hard to pick on them for not making plays when there's 9 other players on that defense making even less plays then they are.

It was clear as day Joshua Fckin Dobbs wasn't going to do anything....except maybe turn the ball over again. It was brutal and that dumb piece of shit Tomlin thought the defense would just hold the rest of the game.

Tomlin is a strange mix of dumb and cowardice disguised as bravado.

Makes me want to vomit.

Maybe Tomlin was resting Ben to make up for the fact he made Ben practice this past Wednesday...

One final thought from the Black Hole: Just imagine what this team would be without Ben Roethlisberger..?? If that wasn’t any more apparent tonight, you should stop watching football.
