Brown could easily be replaced with a vet WR like Funchess.

C’mon now. AB is a delusional narcissistic knucklehead, that needs to be shown the door ASAP, but let’s not minimize what he is on the field. While I’d be all for bringing in Funchess, he isn’t easily replacing Brown. There isn’t any single player, FA or draftee, replacing Antonio Brown. This guy is the best WR in the game today, one of the best ever. He’s a sure fire first ballot HoFer. His time in Pittsburgh is over, but he’s arguably one of the 5 best players to ever wear the black and gold. His production is going to be missed.

Perhaps Funchess isn't an all world skill receiver like Brown is, true. He would certainly add to an arsenal of skill players that could for all intents and purposes keep production of this offense on the plus side. I worded it terribly now re-reading it. Ice with a very good definition. Thanks.

Edit: We'll see in a couple days where he ends up. If he goes to a shit team with a shit QB your talk of his stats will ring hollow. Even if he goes to a team with a decent QB he won't put up the same production he did with Ben. I'm almost willing to bet on it and I don't like to gamble.

Some good names hitting the market... and few if any of those guys factor against the compensatory pick formula.

Olivier Vernon to the Browns. Further loading that defense.

Yep, they gave up a top G for him, but they have another very good G waiting to take his place. It's a big win-win for both the Browns and the Giants. It's a shame we can't do shit like this...ever!

That made me almost throw up when I saw that, but quickly realized Trey Flowers won't be there and he's a beast.

FWIW...,From Feb. 22nd....
@C_AdamskiTrib
Lost in Kevin Colbert's comments about Antonio Brown and Ben Roethlisberger today to @nflnetwork was that he seemed to maybe/sorta/perhaps/kinda let it slip that Jesse James and the Steelers are going to work out an extension? https://twitter.com/C_AdamskiTrib/statu ... 4026708996

Antonio Morrison was released from Greenbay... intriguing ILB prospect. Sees like the typical Steelers FA move.
@FieldYates
The Packers have waived LB Antonio Morrison, per source. He was acquired in a trade from the Colts last offseason. https://twitter.com/FieldYates/status/1 ... 6534534145
Another intriguing prospect.
@BrianCoz
The Jets are not picking up the option on LB Kevin Pierre-Louis, per source. That creates another $2 million in cap space. #nyj https://twitter.com/BrianCoz/status/1098019824511406080

I may be the only one but I liked KPL coming out as a coverage backer.

You're not alone B2B. We had board discussions about Pierre-Louis here.

Markus Golden and John Brown would be the 2 FA I would love to see on the Steelers. Hicks would be a bonus.

If they spend a lot in free agency, will that not mean they have no chance at a 3 compensatory pick for Bell next year?

The Steelers are not making a splash into free agency...They will sign a few lower level FA's to fill out the roster

steelers will be scared to sign a quality fa for fear of losing that comp pick for bell. they can;t afford a PR nightmare.

Still have almost 3 days to sign Houston and cut Dupree before that $9M becomes guaranteed.

Who knows what Houston would want though, probably 12M per season for 4 years.

I started one thread that said if he was too much of a pussy to run a QB sneak, he should retire.

You do realize that Ben ran several QB sneaks last year, for the first time in like 5 years?

12 per for Houston. Minus the $9 after cutting dupree is a win, win..

Houston, Watt Adenyi ....with Kion Adams and a draft pick forb the 4th OLB spot.

Move DHB and Hunter 2018 salaries to sign Golden Tate.

DHB and Hunter combined $2 million salary last year. Tate played on 1 year $3.7 contract last year. He is cut inn the mold of Hines Ward
