If I heard right Cowher just called us soft. I don't see anything wrong with that statement

Tomlin: We didn't do the job today #obviously

No shit

Scott Brown ‏@ScottBrown_ESPN 3m3 minutes ago

Mike Tomlin says "we've got to swallow this one and we will."

No shit. Went from being the shooter, to the swallower

Tomlin: We botched a field goal operation

You don't say?

Jason La Canfora ‏@JasonLaCanfora 2m2 minutes ago

Coach Cowher calls the Steelers "finesse" on offense and "soft" on defense while discussing them on our postgame show. Wow. Strong coffee

Precisely. Probably kills Bill to watch them look like that
Alex Kozora ‏@Alex_Kozora 1m1 minute ago

Brian Hoyer completed 13 fewer passes than Ben Roethlisberger. He threw for just 11 less yards. #Steelers

Todd Haley offense ladies and gents

You know, the biggest difference between Tomlin and Cowher....both "players coaches"....Cowher's guys rarely lacked confidence. Or swagger. This team hasn't had any swagger since 2010.

Tomlin is, and always has been, a fraud.

It's only that he's now being exposed.

After years of buying the bullshit I'm forced to agree. I'll admit, especially after we won 43 I was very impressed with his "composure" and his looking forward. He'd at least earned the benefit of the doubt for some time. That time has ended and then some.

People often mistake confidence for intelligence. Tomlin is extremely confident. He speaks of things he has rehearsed a thousand times, so his answers are quick and without stutter. But that means nothing, except that he has had a lot of practice speaking of those things.

Tomlin is fine for a vet highly talented team with established coordinators and a system in place. I would not choose Mike Tomlin to build a football team.

I'm not saying he stands in front of a mirror and rehearses.

I'm saying, he speaks the same lingo on a regular basis, so he is polished at saying it.

The fact that he is polished at saying them means nothing regarding intelligence, except that he speaks of these things often and is polished at saying them. It tells me nothing of his ability to think and analyze at a deep level, or his ability to discern.

Why is the discussion continuing here?

Yep.

Not true of the Cleveland Browns though, and that is why they beat our asses today.

OK.

Can't argue with that.

He appears not to be able to build a vision himself.

They'll get healthier....Ben/AB/Bell will play some games out-of-their mind....Team generally rises to compete with better teams. Likely 7-8 wins, book it.

I do not see this team beating the Colts, Ravens or the Bengals x2, They can easily lose to the Texans and the Chiefs and Falcons. Toss up games are Jets, Saints and Titans. There is no game that I think they can win easily.

Why would anyone think that they'll change the philosophy?

They'll do what they do as usual and keep failing

I wouldn't fire anyone midseason. That's what you do for guys who are going 0 for the season. They will reevaluate after the season.

There's this sentiment of "oh, the Steelers will do their thing and never change anything." Really? This is an organization that "suggested" Chuck Noll get on with his life's work, you think anyone currently on this staff is safe? It was Deuce who said it was high time this team won another super bowl. You don't think he wants to win?

The time for evaluation is after the season. I'd probably fire Haley first, and hire a new OC to Ben's liking. Let him be part of the interviewing process like Cutler(?). Then get back to running strong and throwing long.
