Helped Carr keep the drives alive several times

that throw he made to tie the game with Mike Mitchell bearing down is as good as it gets in the NFL

kid might be a top 5 QB this time next year

Amazing how full the board is with new threads to complain after a loss, but after a win....the wind blows tumbleweeds across the plain.

I think I have enjoyed about 6 quarters worth of football this season. Tough year for these guys. Seems like every win comes with an even bigger loss

I'm worried too, but I could probably muster some praise for Brown if I tried.

lot of people were waiting this year for the steelers 2 point strategies to burn them.

Going for 2 early may have saved this game.

I think people are just deflated with what looks to be another major injury to Ben. Who thinks the Steelers are winning the Super Bowl with Landry Jones or Michael Vick?

The concern for whether our season is done has taken away from what would have been a fun win except for the D not getting it done.

We are all in sportsshock right now. We just got Ben back and he didn't even get to finish 1 game when he was back to playing the way he can again.

Barney had it about right. Hard to think up much right now besides Ben getting hurt. Pretty much the indispensable element unless Landry Jones can unleash his inner Madd Maddox and not his inner Badd Maddox.

So this is now three week out of 9 that we have an injury watch after a game. And two of those are wins. It is beyond pathetic to keep having to deal with this shit week in a week out. The number one reason this season will not be what it could be.

So, who's Landry's back-up from here on out?

I know it's early, but I have this nagging thought Ben could have a lisfranc injury. Hope that isn't the case.

Absolutely sickening. Be a small miracle if there's nothing broken. Holding out for a miracle.he can play after bye, smaller miracle that Landry can beat Browns. Blame and fingers can will be.pointed later, just hoping for the best. Still doesn't diminish that there's a fault line.

Quit your fuckin' bitchin, everyone!! Do we know Ben's status?? No....but we won a fuckin' game with Landry Jones taking us for the winning drive....game we had to have.

We're in good position for a playoff spot, have a lead over the Raiders and tiebreaker. I bet Ben's back after the bye against Seattle. Landry can beat the clowns.

We won a fuckin' football game at the fuckin' gun.

Enjoy it.

Enough of the bellyaching; enough of the fuckin bedwetting.

Go STEELERS!!!

Technically not, since they won by 2.

I still maintain the risks of going for 2 are skewed to the downside, and so you're breakeven is actually higher than 50%.

But it DOES have the benefit of turning 2 Todd Haley TD's into 7 points. And when you do it early, you can make-up for missing later when you have an offense you expect to find the EZ more often with. I think the strategy should change with Landry Jones, though. We'll see.

technically yes - they won by 3. Tomlin's decision made it so that you did not HAVE to score on that final possession since the Oakland TD only tied the game (XP pending).

edit: think your other thoughts are pretty spot on

I don't think it changed a thing on either side. With 2 TO's, PIT was going to try to get in FG range whether it was tied or down 1. The only difference it made was that PIT wasn't in 4-down territory, which could be argued to also diminish the value of the conversion.

As things turned out, it was probably better Landry jones didn't have the psychological weight of knowing he'd have to drive into FG range trailing by one instead of tied.

Don't underestimate that kind of thing.

I didn't have a problem going for two points because it was early in the game.

This wasn't like Arizona where it was later in the game AND our QB who had never played a regular season snap had just gotten into the game.

I enjoyed Brown, I enjoyed the defense, I enjoyed Williams, I appreciate that Landry looks better and was able to pull out the win.

Good luck with that phone thing.

Tell you the truth....was a VERY entertaining game. I don't enjoy any of them; I suffer through, hope I"m happy at the end....and that's EXACTLY what happened today.

Truthfully, how many of you with 3rd & 2 at the 35, less than a minute to go, Landry under center, thought we were winning this game.

Personally, I was saying, run the fuckin' ball....if we come up short, let the clock run down to 15 seconds, Oakland won't have time to win in regulation.
