Honey Badger to the Chiefs for 43MM.
They are going for it. Make several runs before you have to pay Mahomes.

Sunrise sunset.
Some here thought the Steelers would finally make a FA splash.
Doubt it.

Biggest surprise to me is Suggs to the Arizona Cardinals.
As usual the Redskins making moves. Detroit (Wannabee Patriots East) and the 49ers signing everybody else. Jags give Foles 22 million a year to try to stabilize their run for another shot at the playoffs..
I seen a rumor Steelers were interested in Hicks and Roby but, so were about 4 or 5 other teams. I did see a twitter feed that said Hicks was coming to Pittsburgh tomorrow, then I seen it was corrected to today. Not sure what to believe. Nothing coming out of the Pittsburgh media about Roby or Hicks. Both are needed..
Landon Collins & Honey Badger BOTH pulling in 14 million a year. Earl Thomas will get PAID. We'll have to bargain shop if we want to replace Burnett before the draft in free agency.
Steelers need to sign Hicks & Roby (or something vey comparable), then go after the young TE from Kansas City.
I'd also call uncle Bruce and offer a 1 round higher draft pick than the Eagles are offering for DeSean Jackson, OR throw in two players; Artie Burns and Morgan Burnett. Or is DeSean washed up? My two guys (WR hopefuls) Funchess and Jamison Crowder have new deals in place.

I have never been annoyed at the Steelers during free agency bc I know how they roll.
This year, for the first time, i’m annoyed.
We have money, we have glaring holes, an inability to draft DBs worth a damn and are coming off a royal shit show of a season and some kind of reality show gone wrong early off season.
DO SOMETHING.

Easing into free agency, its what we do. We'll wait for the clearance sale and then strike.

Um, no. 3 of the 4 teams who were in the conference championships have already made moves:
Pats get Bennett
Rams get Weddle
Chiefs get Matheu
Packers had a down year but they aren’t a bottom feeder. Colts are a playoff winning team and in better position than the Steelers and are as we speak active in FA.
Stop trying to frame this as the time shitty teams make moves to absolve what the Steelers do. We tend to do jack shit to make this team better (Morgan Burnett anyone?), then go 9-6-1 and miss the playoffs.

I am sure the steelers will find their Bargain basement FA to plug into the lineup on defense.

This. Exactly how i feel. I will never understand having a qb like Ben and not going all in trying to improve the roster. I really was hoping it would be different this year.

Even the mere fact that New England made a run at AB shows you how categorically different these two teams are. Steelers never in a MILLION years would have made a run at AB if the tables were turned.

Thus far, Baltimore has lost.....
Starting ILB and leading tackler for the last two seasons
Top 2 pass rushers
Starting FS
#1 WR

Pats traded for Bennett...they have to pay him but didn’t need to get in a bidding war.
Weddle was a street FA. Rams made him a fair offer, but again no bidding war.
Chiefs overpaid for Honey Badger.
Pack has nearly 40 mil in cap space...Colts over 100 mil (how is that possible?).
Steelers have about 16 mil, not sure if that includes rookie pool. All the cuts, moves, restructures that we’re going to give them all this cap money to throw around hasn’t happened.
I’m not trying to defend them sitting on their hands, but this is what they do...what they always do.
I don’t know why you guys are pissed and surprised...

You forgot backup QB.
Well, they did just re-sign their blocking TE!

I’m not pissed or surprised.
What I’m saying is good teams are out there getting better. That’s not something we normally do because we expect Ben to pull something out of his ass on our way to a wild card or AFCN title.
But again, think about the Pats making a run at AB, something the Steelers never in a million years would have done. Shows you that they are good and are always looking to get better. Steelers are very different.

I also think the word is out on the Steelers. We are cheap and offer shit contracts (that’s what I’ve read online so it must be true haha).
But really, with all of the bullshit that has transpired, not sure anyone wants to come here and play for Tomlin. We still have some very good players on this team, but Tomlin’s reputation is now widely known, league wide.

I would have thought FA will be looking to play for a players coach like Tomlin and a top Organization without a losing season in the past 11 years.

I think that almost every contract given out thus far is bullshit and Im glad the Steelers are sitting out.
Tomlin kept those turds Brown and Bell in line as long as he could. I dont care how many twtiter likes they get, you cant tell me they weren’t hated by the guys in the trenches who are the knes that matter.
Ask Heyward and Pouncey what they think of Tomlin.
They wont have a problem getting quality veterN leaders, just not these overpaid assholes.
One thing the Steelers NEVER do is make an outsider the highest paid player at a position group unless he is head and shoulders above his peers.
CJ Mosely at this point may not be much better than Vince Williams.

If I may add to this:
Rams signed Weddle to replace Demarcus Joyner. That's a downgrade.
The Chiefs defense was (statistically) the worst to make the post season in decades. They also just cut their top pass rusher and might lose their other one. They haven't improved.
The Packers roster is utter trash outside of Rodgers and Adams. Remember they were one of the big winners in FA last year after they signed Wilkerson and Graham.
Calling my shot now - the Colts regress next year and miss the playoffs.

Signed with the Cardinals for 4 years, 36M. With the stupid money being thrown around, that's actually not bad.
