I believe it is a rule. There might be a stipulation for goal line or behind the LOS, but if you are a QB and dive in the open field, the ball is down where you start the dive and where the ball is. You get zero slide if the field is slippery. That is my understanding. Always wondered how it worked on the goaline or QB sneaks.Kodiak. wrote: ↑Sat Dec 16, 2023 10:01 pmIs that a new rule? Thought that only applied when the QB slides. Don't think the dive forward rule applies when the QB is a runner.LakecrestSteeler wrote: ↑Sat Dec 16, 2023 10:00 pmI thought we were going to be robbed by the rule that the ball is down as soon as the QB dives forwarded.

The minor brothers!
“ But Brian was the quarterback. He lay on the ground like a sniper had shot him, so they threw me out. It’s big entertainment now, protect the quarterback, $200 to your favorite charity.”
It's kind of funny. Mitch takes more risk, which yields more variance good and bad, but the end results of QB play is pretty much the same as Pickett. Just more volatility, and more entertaining. Kenny is like watching paint dry.

Actually, the other Herbig isn’t a star.

We’ve all busted on Danny Smiff a lot.. but the punt block has been exceptional for this team the last few seasons.

I guess you have to be deemed giving yourself up which would not include a goal line play.LakecrestSteeler wrote: ↑Sat Dec 16, 2023 10:06 pmI believe it is a rule. “A quarterback does not have to slide feet first to be considered to be giving himself up,” the league’s online rules say. “Regardless whether the slide is feet first or head first, as long as he gives himself up, he should receive the protections afforded to him as a player in a defenseless posture.”
Mitch scores on first down.

So saying if Mitch broke the plane = me saying Mitch didn't break the plane. Lol.
KC, for the love of God, just dial it down a notch or two today.

Najee Harris is the very reason you NEVER draft a rb in the first round

Trubisky is rallying this offense beautifully and scoring TDs in the red zone. Been a long time since we’ve seen this!

Not sure Kenny makes that throw. At least not on time.

If Mitch is under center, either he or Najee score easy.
Shotgun on first down from 1 was utterly fucking brainless.

Couldn’t the NFL network shell out for a real play by play man in the booth? Rich Eisen is awful. Anyone would be better.

I know, right? It's almost as if Trubisky could be the best of our shitty QBs.Steelperch wrote: ↑Sat Dec 16, 2023 10:11 pmTrubisky is rallying this offense beautifully and scoring TDs in the red zone. Been a long time since we’ve seen this!
But fingers still crossed for Mason. Looking forward to that in a rubber-necking train wreck sort of way.
