Winning a playoff game might be the absolute worst thing that could happen to this franchise at this point in time.

Fields ain't ever going to work and Milroe?? OMG. That offense they were running with Fields topped every damn please just stop, so boring and utterly monotonous I could cry, ( if not fall asleep) so why would anyone in the world want to set aside time on a Sunday, (or any other day) to watch this bleeding rectum of a failure that I really didn't think could get any worse after the last few years, yet here we are and it IS, seemingly impossibly so, an even worse offensive shit show than what we were already complaining about . 100% unwatchable no matter who ends up at QB at this point or what holes they fill. Tomlin and Art need to leave and they won't..so I guess I will. What a damn shame.Gonzo wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2025 10:20 pmand a prediction -- the Steelers will try and deflect blame and move the conversation away from Tomlin and Rooney.
They will double down on their stop the run chorus ... they will hint at big FA signings at DT and WR.
Yet, IMO neither will happen.
They will close their eyes and cross their fingers and hope people will forget, come back, spend money and magically a playoff win will appear.
They will re-sign Justin Feilds, draft WR and DL and make some half ass FA signing also at DL , WR and RB. No way I see Tomlin tieing his NHALS next year to a rookie RB, WR or QB.
I think its pretty obvious now the dynamic -- Rooney is buying what Tomlin is selling.
I think we can bet that once NHALS is reached, that milestone, Coach Mike will shut things down waiting for his chance to go bump chests with big strapping D Linemen proving what a man he is.
Once the first loss after that great monument to coaching is reached, that is going to be the end of the season, like it's happened over the last few years.
The only thing keeping the team even barely competitive after NHALS was Ben's attitude, and that wasn't even enough.
The rot is as bad as a cannery garbage dump in that shithole Baltimore.
"I'm institutionalized, man," he joked. "I gotta have it. I just love the challenges week in and week out that this job provides: the growth in it, the collective growth, the individual growth."

They do not have the OC ( that has been shown) who would take advantage of a mobile QB. If a team drafts Milroe and has Fields at QB, the offense should be RPO on almost every play. A. Smith wants a pocket passer to make his offense work. I'm sure Smith wants Ward or Will Howard in this draft. Tomlin likes mobile QBs but the offense he runs does not take advantage of it.BouldernBun wrote: ↑Thu Jan 30, 2025 1:37 amFields ain't ever going to work and Milroe?? OMG. And he has 3 seasons to do so.W&M_Steeler wrote: ↑Thu Jan 30, 2025 2:35 pmYep. The Steelers squeaking out a close win in the Wild Card round and losing by 30 in the Divisional gets Tomlin extended.
