TOMLIN MORATORIUM: By presidential decree...
Re: TOMLIN MORATORIUM: By presidential decree...
Or when things go bad he has no involvement at all with the offense but when it's good he is responsible for the direction of the offense

You can't, because you're a #bugeyedfuck
He didn't control what happened to his OC (when Arians was "retired") so we literally have no idea what Tomlin controls and what he doesn't.
Glad you liked my "bug eyed fuck" though.
Not surprised it got under your skin.

so all gameplans go through the deuce, now? makes sense, he always struck me as a film junkie.
i wouldn't be surprised, if ben closes in on 5000, to see the deuce sprinting out to the the field to take 7 out himself.

The opposite is also true. Little middle ground exists among us. I seem to be the only reasonable fan.

Not enough points on the board against the softest schedule in the league. I'm not sold there's been much good. They could be frauds.
This team needs to score and score a lot to have a shot at the trophy. We don't have the reps.
The hidden value in putting teams away early is preserving your bodies. There are 64 quarters in a season; making only 56 of them competitive is a huge advantage. Of course we always play the scoreboard like it's 1992 football.
In the Steelers favor, they've run good with injuries - which matters as much as your QB when it comes to winning the trophy.

Opinions ....
1. Organizations often say a manager has retired when they really have given him the option to retire or be fired.
2. Art II was correct for wanting a change in offensive philosophy.
3. Tomlin has NEVER lost his team for a moment.
4. Tomlin will need to make sure we continue to bring the blitz and do it with man pressure against the top QBs.
Manning and Brady will not make mistakes unless pressured.

Manning does appear damaged but I still don't want to play "big cushion / zone " against him.

thomas will destroy any of our corners in press man.

Isn't it great, the chunks of yardage we are now getting by using the entire field in the vertical game? Many of us were calling for this.
We all wanted to be able to run the ball more effectively. So did Arians. And we did during the 2010 season during pounceys rookie season with flozell adams. We destroyed the jets in the first half of the afccg by running the football down their throats due to their undersized front 7.... won the game for us... with Arians at OC.

Mike Tomlin, General Manager and Man Responsible for All Exceptional Individual Efforts.
Noted.
This team can take it all but I expect no favors from the top. Just another indecisive and awful decision in the moment that mattered most for a head coach.

hope you didn't choke on your cheerios when he redeemed himself
Gotta agree with Tunch on this one.
The fake punt is a call that can be traced to one man...Mike Tomlin.
Why?
Because he has said he makes those types of calls.
And it was a terrible, terrible call.
Not because it didn't work but because in a game where the offense was sputtering and the defense had just gotten gashed and the team was still recovering psychologically from the Bell injury, it was NOT the time to take such a risk.
The decision doesn't negate the good things Tomlin has done this year but it sure as hell highlights that game management is still not one of his strong suits.

Except we won the game. You can still hope that Tomlin causes the Steelers to lose next week so you can gloat on Steeler Fury.

I hope Tomlin isn't faced with any tough decisions so he won't have a chance to fuck them up.
The man is content to be inept - as he should since the Yinzers can't be bothered to consider the bigger picture.
A slightly sharper Ben tonight and Tomlin is removed from the equation.
I'm not expecting that benefit in Denver or New England.

Tomlin admitted that was his call and he wasn't proud like Barney Fife being not proud.

The fake was a terrible call and as you know I am a fan of aggressive 4th down calls...but not on 4th and 9 in that situation...just stupid as hell

And might as well be because people who live in Western PA aren't sophisticated enough to expect more?

There is no statistical model that can support a fake punt on 4th and 9 in that situation. None.
You can hit on 18 and get a 3 and get lucky. But that doesn't make it smart.

There is no explanation for that fake punt. It's idiotic for a man who puts in 90+hours a week of work and then negates large chunks of that work because... I don't know. Gut feelings? Tomlin certainly doesn't know.

Two of the best coaches in football are getting fired tomorrow. Most teams and all fan bases are dumb.

I actually still play a lot (full-time when I was younger and there was better money in it).
The fucked thing is that this isn't sexy math. It's eighth grade math. It's embarrassing for a man to have such a poor grasp of optimal decision making and then lack the balls to stand by your decision with sound reasoning.

Stop fucking with me. Smith is an embarrassment. I meant Harbaugh.
Rex should go to ATL.
