Unrealistic expectations? You mean being able to figure out when to call a fucking time out when the game is on the line? That sort of unrealistic ? The only thing unrealistic is that anyone in their right mind could have watched Mike Tomlin coach over the last 8 years or so and think he is anything but a mindless toddler trapped in a mans body who happened to get a coaching job which someone drops him off for every week as he stumbles around for an hour or so until he finds the front door .
I think you have Tomlin confused with Steve Sarkisian aka Cutty Sark

Um, that's not how I remember it. I seem to recall Neil O'Dummell kicking his ass year after year in the playoffs. Not exactly "very good" in my book.

Year after year?? '94...and....'94....and...'94
Belichick took a 3-win Browns team and had them at 10-4 and in the playoffs in three years, beat Bill Parcells Patriots team, then had the rug pulled from under him.

Well actually they were 11-5, and he had one winning season in 5 years. Sorry I misremembered about the playoffs, but my point stands. Hardly excellence no matter who the owner is.

Right...one winning season in five, but in year 4, the 3-13 team (is that correct?) he took over had won a playoff game. It was a fairly rapid turnaround

I will agree with your point that he doesn't make the routine fuckups that the Potted Plant does, but in my opinion without the cheating his career in New England would be similar to his stint in Cleveland. But we'll never know.

Ill cede this much, splat. I disagree with you, but BECAUSE of the cheating, any negative conclusions anyone wants to draw is fair
