Bens been in this league for over 10 years. He has a $100 million + contract. If people don't think he has control over the offense, they are fucking lunatics. Ben sucks sometimes. We needed great Ben tonight. We got average. Not close to good enough.

The million dollar question is whether Ben has too much control over the offense, or if Haley is just too dumb to overcome.

Ben has more control over this offense than any QB in the league, maybe even more than Pey-Pey had. Most here consider Haley to be a dolt. The failures don't have to be mutually exclusive, but something needs to change.

And Ben was damn good tonight. He got little help from the coaches or his players. He really had nothing to do with losing tonight.

I would have been upset, but not crushed, if we had come with a sound game plan but still lost but New England outplayed us. That happens, and you say kudos.

But we didn't even try. We weren't even a speed bump.

How many times do they have to do the same things over and over and have them fail against the Pats...only to drag them out again and hope for something different?

I knew where Tomlin's head was today when he dressed Tousaint over Ayers.

While that didn't impact the game per se, it does put his poor decision making on display.

Let's get some perspective here guys. This was disappointing...I agree with that sentiment. Came out with a poor plan to start and stuck with it too long, but this wasn't our year. We overachieved. Our defense is way too young and our passing options took a big hit with the alien suspension and Green concussion issue.

Focus on the positives. Ben has 3-4 good years left. We are in great position to get another 1 or 2. Heyward is coming back to pair with Tuitt and Hargrave. Shazier and Dupree seem to be solid starters. We have a couple secondary guys who are worth keeping around. Our line isn't going anywhere and our receivers have another year to mature.

It sucks, but honestly this is better than what I had hoped coming into the season.

I disagree. This year was winnable. They may have lost today, but the coaching and gameplan was a total fail. I'm a Tomlin fan, but this loss is 100% on his shoulders. Just pathetic. So disappointed.

agreed. PIT was a Super Bowl favorite at the beginning of the year. They were picked to win the AFC North--and they barely did. This was not some rebuilding year. There were many who picked them to win the SB

Watching the Penguins and Steelers - it's refreshing to see the Pens win because of a combination of philosophy and talent. Coach Sullivan puts players in a position to succeed.

The contrast to this Steelers coaching staff - night and day. They don't have a clue with what to do with the talent on the team.

Issues for tonight IMHO

Shitty defensive game plan - played into Pats strengths. Not to mention leaving receivers uncovered.

Offensive execution (dropped passes, etc.)

O-Line was manhandled at times.

Frankly, the Steelers lacked a true #2 threat. AB was doubled. NOBODY else really stepped up.
Bell was neutralized and injured. Rest of the "skill" players were inadequate at best.

New England proves year after year you don't need world beaters...you just need guys that are coached real well to do the job they are supposed to do in the game plan.
