according to Jeemie's world, this means that the Pats will likely not convert the next 9 third downs in a row

Did the pats call the timeout knowing they were toast anyway?

Someone has to do it. I don’t think he’ll be getting any from Giselle tonight...

Wow...the invincible Cheats totally shat the bed.
On the other hand the Patriots didn't convert a single 3rd down and they still put up 20 points.
I also doubt we'll ever get the benefit of an officiating crew like that. They really swallowed the whistles and let Miami DBs get physical with those receivers.

Jesus, that Belichick presser is... just... wow. First off the reporters are all afraid, speak like it's a funeral, and ask despite the pointlessness of it all. It's like some weird performance art piece.
"So, coach, if someone prevented you from doing your job the way the NFL authorized you to do it, would you be outraged and pissed off?"
"So coach, are you a fucking asshole or just a childish bully?"
Fuck that guy. I actually hate him more than Brady-- Brady can be irritating and smug, but he's nowhere near Belichick's league.

didn't bother to read the thread...I hope none of you are drawing any conclusions based off that game..pats were totally keeping their cards close to the vest..didn't put anything on tape for us because that game frankly just didn't matter..they will be ready..hope tomlin has an "A" gamepaln along with butler and haley.

Nah, it was just fun to watch them lose.

i buy neither the idea that the Pats would feel the need to play things close to the vest in preparation for our game (as another poster here once said, Belichick probably throws the Steelers into the 'easy win' pile when he glances over that season schedule) or the idea that this game was expendable, given that a win next week now clinches home field for us (at least in regards to the Pats) regardless of the outcome of the remaining games
this loss could very well cost them a first round bye as well

I do not buy it either as it is a AFC loss which is worst for them in the long run.
Loved all those rubs that Miami ran to get wide open. Hope the Steelers were watching.

I hate to admit it, but I saw him in person over the Spring down at the OSU clinic and he was great. He was very personable and a complete 180 from what we see on TV. Now I'm done defending him.

Agreed, it's pathetic and weak paranoia. What, because he doesn't show anything in this game the Steelers can't look at the rest of the season worth of tape? Really? Do people understand how completely stupid that argument is?

Except the Steelers will get penalized for it. The refs will be busy Sunday. They're going to give the Pats most every opportunity to destroy us. Get ready for some criminally obvious, bullshit calls on the Steelers.
This game is too easy to predict.

I highly suspect the Patriots could play us "close" on Sunday and end up losing to us at Heinz...
Give these cocky Steeler kids a "false" sense of security, and leave us to "do what we do" come playoff time.
They know we'll meet again in the playoffs, and they are much smarter than to leave it all on the field before then at this point in the season...

I agree. They don't play well in Miami. But you have to give the Dolphins credit for forcing the issue. They beat them up front all night on defense all night. No answers for Suh or the other interior linemen. That offense runs through what Gronk brings to the table which usually means Brady is throwing jerk routes to the hash marks without a safety or LB there to help the DB. I actually saw Brady try (most times unsuccessfully) to make a deep cover 2 soft spot throw and the last time I saw him even make that throw was in a Super Bowl with similar results.
I've been saying it for months that the Patriots defense has struggled against teams with more than one weapon and good QBing all year. They can't pressure and they can't cover the deep third consistently the Steelers can get any look they want- as long as they are patient.

Just a nitpick here, but the Steelers wouldn't clinch home field with a win. If the Steelers defeat NE then lose to Houston and Cleveland, then Jax would get the tiebreaker at 12-4 (assuming they win out). The Jags also hold the tiebreaker with NE if they both finish 12-4.

The Jacksonville Jaguars with AFC home field would be almost as unlikely as the Case Keenum/Nick Foles NFCCG the NFL is also about to feature. Just like everybody drew it up at the beginning of the season. This scenario would, by the way also feature Blake Bortles as one of the final four NFL QBs.
Nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile...
