This more than anything is what's putting him over Dobbs for the #2 spot

I thought Dobbs had a rough first series, but fought back and made some throws and made things happen with his feet as well. There's a lot to work with there if he could calm down in the pocket. If anything I think he put decent tape together if he ends up as trade bait.
Rudolph just looked in command out there though.

Dobbs has zero consistency.

Zero.

He’ll make a brilliant throw here and there, but those throws will be mixed in with too many garbage WTF throws.

He is what he is. That ain’t changing.

Gentry looks very sure handed and doesn’t run in sand like the pud he’s attempting to replace.

I don't care his series' have been against scrubs. Devlin Hodges looks sharp. Looks like he belongs. I make room for him on the roster somehow.

Gentry having a nice night. He looks not just taller than Outlaw but bigger generally.

Hodges look very nice. So far.

Hodges has a presence about him. Never flustered.

As sparse as decent back ups are? I'm betting PS can get something for him, if it comes to that. To early to push all in on Hodges. Needs to show this over whole pre season.

I agree. Hodges has been pretty smooth. He's only 6'1 but has a nice arm, good vision, and quick feet.

Can we start calling him Bubby?
Howard Griffith had to resort to chop-blocking him during the 1997 AFC Championship Game. An incredulous Kirkland asked Griffith, “Why do you have to use cheap tactics like chop-blocking?” Griffith replied “Why do you have to be a 300-pound linebacker?”

Hodges playing in his first preseason game as a Steeler has out played both Dobbs and Rudolph in their first debut. I keep Hodges somehow.

Accuracy and touch. Showed more than Landry did his 1st 2 years in two series.

We have a new assistant coach for replays. Am I missing something? I never saw a Steeler recover the fumble.

The future of our QB position might be bright.

As long as this is just Tomlin getting his dumbass challenges out of the way in the preseason, and they additionally had replay challenge assistant Teryl Austin tied up and gagged on the bench, I'm good with this challenge.
The somehow is the somehow
