Re: Go Ravens???
Saints just lost to shitty Philly with rookie QB, and very unlikely Brees will be back next QM, would be shocked if KC loses another game this season.

To be fair, they earned this opportunity even though they are playing uninspired and sloppy football right now. When you win your first 11 games it's much easier to get in the playoffs and win your division.Steelperch wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 4:41 amI’m going to be pounding my chest so hard when we beat the 2 win Bengals to win the division next Monday night.

I feel like the Steelers are a tired team right now, that last stretch of 3 games in 12 days really feels like it took a toll, especially playing 3 really good defenses. There’s a reason NFL teams normally have a week between games, it takes long to recover, prob a big reason we’ve had so many injuries last two weeks.
No, the Chiefs don't need to lose two. They only need to lose to LA (unlikely I know) and the 1 seed would be ours if we go 14-2. So, unfortunately, I think we will be playing starters if we win the next 2 games.

All of this. The turnaround going against Washington was ridiculous. We had 5 days after a division game while they were off for like 11 days. They had an extra week of film study and game prep plus their bodies got to heal up.StillerDownSouth wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 5:11 amI feel like the Steelers are a tired team right now, that last stretch of 3 games in 12 days really feels like it took a toll, especially playing 3 really good defenses. See, I don't like rust from a bye week. And it's a tired team. I'm saying you take 2 weeks off, and then play at least a half, maybe even 3 quarters against CLE.Greeksteel wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 5:09 amI get we aint winning the 1 seed, but you cant rest players for 3 weeks...that last week vs the brownies...yes i agree
You can rotate guys or do something. Get all your regular players a legit full week out of the facility over the next two weeks.

Herbert in Arrowhead in December? Yeah, they ain’t beating the chiefs. But still important to know, because Tomlin will likely play starters if it is still up for grabs week 17. The NFL can make the games at the same time too (if they aren’t already).

Browns and Ravens running attacks are sick. They have maulers; we have “pidder padders” as Collinsworth described them last night in Buffalo.
Pidder padders. Not a good look.

Yeah, the Pinder padder thing that they were explaining and showing last night was just embarrassing. It also clearly showed why we rarely get a push anymore. It's one thing to keep your feet moving as you press forward but the tippy tap foot movement creates zero power.Orangesteel wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 5:28 amBrowns and Ravens running attacks are sick. If Baker keeps putting games together like that they will run on anyone. And Stefanski is a good playcaller.Boukman wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 5:20 amI hear you. Didn't expect the Browns to have that much success running on Ravens though.
I have been worried about this team's ascension since they stopped screwing around and wasting their draft picks over the past 3-4 seasons.
But even though they were finding some talented players I was always skeptical because from the FO side of things the place was mostly a complete clown show. (Arguably any organization that nominates Myles Garrett as Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year still deserves that title).
We are likely nearing the end of the salad days of AFC North dominance, at least until we find another QB.
And don't forget about Burrow in CIN.
It's going to get ugly quick when Ben is gone and the defense starts getting old. And the thing with the cap is they are either going to have to let some young talent go, or a few difference makers go and the SB windows slams shut.
Tomlin is a smart guy. Probably heads right to the studio minutes after Ben hangs it up.

That shirt is a bald-faced. Steelers can’t run. I barely remember the last time they could. Those shirts should be revised to say Steelers dink and dunk the North.Professor Half Wit wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 10:31 amSteelperch wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 4:41 amI’m going to be pounding my chest so hard when we beat the 2 win Bengals to win the division next Monday night.![]()

Porn doesn't count as watching game film! If he actually watched game film, he would know his offence sucks and needs changes, yet we saw none. If he watches game film, he would key in on guys who may not be performing and do something about it. He could key in on the OL and realize there is a problem and fix it, yet we haven't seen it either. We all feel Villy, Dotson, Pouncey, Decastro, and Feiler would be the best combo, but Tomlin rides with what he's got. If he watches all this game film, he should be able to make adjustments nearly every series and this team would be unstoppable because he would know what has worked against each team on every occasion! I don't think he watches game film!!!stillthere wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 4:47 amTomlin watches more film than a few of us combined per week. he learns nothing, yet again.

"Cook" is pretty damn close to the authentic German pronunciation. And, believe me, I wish it were pronounced like the thing that's on your minds, you filthy animals!

I'd happily take Gus Edwards of their hands. Gus the Bus is the best RB they have. They keep bringing in other guys and trying to find ways to take his touches/snaps and he keeps producing. I am a keen admirer of his game.

I said it when they were both coming out and I'll say it again: Landry is way better for your football team than the flashier OBJ, and that has nothing to do with the hype. Landry just does more stuff that wins you games.stillthere wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 3:46 amJarvis Landry is a better football player than OBJ and it is not even close.

He's throwing to a guy that has at least two clean drops––one of which he managed to not even get a hand on it–– on 4th down!!! When he had nothing but green grass in front of him!!! I just cannot believe that Jackson was idiotic enough to throw that ball in that situation OR that he completed it for a TD. If Brown drops that ball, the game is over.

That's exactly the percentage chance the analytics people say they have for the #1 seed. 5% chance for the Steelers.Kodiak wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 5:00 amIt's an NFC game, so they'd still have the tie-breaker.Greeksteel wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 4:58 ami know they have the tiebreak but you guys want to sit players 2 weeks out even if kc loses to the saints?
They have to either lose to BOTH the Saints and Falcons, OR lose to the lowly LAC. I'd guess they are 95% to go at least 14-2 and #1 seed.

If KC loses to just the Chargers and Steelers win out, PIT wins the #1 seed. % of wins in conference gamesKodiak wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 5:00 amIt's an NFC game, so they'd still have the tie-breaker.Greeksteel wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 4:58 ami know they have the tiebreak but you guys want to sit players 2 weeks out even if kc loses to the saints?

PIT has two paths to the #1 seed: the scenario above OR KC loses to both NO and ATL and Steelers win out

I think you want to give CLE-BAL-TEN a chance to run the ball down KC's throat and hope you never have to see Patrick Mahomes in the postseason. 2 seed is preferable, 3 is better than 4. If you get the 2 or the 3, you can't play KC before some other team has a chance to land a lucky punch.Kodiak wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 5:04 amThey should be deep in thought about where they are at and what they want to do. The 1 seed is the longest of long shots, even if they could win out which doesn't seem super likely.StillerDownSouth wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 5:00 amWell if the Saints beat them they still hold the tiebreaker, and very unlikely Atl or Chargers beat them in Arrowhead. I would definitely consider playing Dobbs last game for sure, maybe even last two games. I just don’t think Ben is healthy right now and it feels like coaches know that and are trying to protect him. I know they threw a lot of quick passes early in the season, but not at the rate they are currently.
Then it becomes how important is seeding if you aren't #1? If we don't win out, BUF might very well take the #2 seed.
TEN and IND both have 4 losses....But would the #4 seed be all that bad if it potentially means taking on KC after they have bye, when they might come out with some rust?
In a way, the Indy game is more important than the CLE game. Beat Indy and you can't play KC in Round 2. You might very well rest guys vs CLE in week 17, knowing you're going to play them the following week.
