I really thought about IDL help in every round. I felt like the most dynamic guys went very early-- the name brand guyswith big upside are few in this draft.
I wanted a DT with versatility: Stout vs the run, ability to play multiple positions along the line, and with some plus pass rush skills as a nickel wave rusher. Hell, he can rush standing up from the EDGE and get home. That's versatile.
This prospect was a very successful DL who lined up everywhere from NT to wide 9 with great sack production who transferred to a new school that asked him to covert to being interior run stuffer who also could give them stunt edge rush reps. He was praised by his new coaches for helping transform the team's run defense.
He also has the length that can be tough to find in a DT. Add to that a stellar pro day workout that exposed him as a superior athlete for the position.
