Kitchens fired
Re: Kitchens fired
I’d like to see what fresh blood can do with our roster
No need for us to “start over”
Dumblin got handed a championship team on a platter and just had to NOT fuck it up
Now how many years later and what success have we had?
3 playoff wins, 1 of which super lucky vs Cincy and many embarrassing regular season and playoff losses.
Fuck that dope

Unreal......
Split with all the division.......only played 3-4 bad games all year......Punchers chance to catch Steelers and Bengals in downturns.....assembled a pretty talented roster.....
Most of those guys will either move on by choice or the new regime will kick them out......
I almost feel sorry for them....

Full of egos and head cases and “me first” players. And they STILL don’t have a QB.assembled a pretty talented roster.....
That said...did not see this one coming.
The "talent" he assembled was largely due to having a pair of top 5 picks and $100m in cap space.
People talk about the talent, but he made a pair of bust signings in Chris Hubbard and Sheldon Richardson. He also completely neglected the LT position and traded their best offensive lineman (plus a draft pick and SS) to get a pair of injury prone players.
I will laugh my ass off if the Browns bring in Josh McDaniels and give him full control

That's the truth, STD, and also why a guy with the 3rd best college coaching job in Texas just turned them down for an interview. No coach with any other prospects wants a piece of that organization. I bet Lane Kiffin would turn them down.
Nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile...

It gets better
The game planning aspect could mirror ours
This is why we probably stick with dumblin. We’d end up as factory of sadness eastTODD MONKEN
C, UNSIGNED FREE AGENT
The Athletic reports ex-Browns coach Freddie Kitchens and OC Todd Monken were "never on the same page."
This has long been obvious, but reporter Zac Jackson offered up some fascinating, funny details on Tuesday. Per Jackson, Monken would "spend time on the field before games telling opposing coaches how bad things were with the Browns," going as far as to call the team a "total mess." Monken apparently complained that Kitchens' Sunday play-calling rarely resembled what was installed in the game plan. An NFL/college journeyman, Monken became a folk hero for his aerial-obsessed Bucs in 2018, though Jameis Winston pushed that envelope even farther in 2019. Monken could have trouble finding play-calling work at the NFL level in 2020.

McCarthy seems to not be turning heads elsewhere
The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports the Browns are considering pairing ex-Packers coach Mike McCarthy with assistant GM Eliot Wolf.
Ron Wolf's son, Eliot overlapped with McCarthy for 12 years in Green Bay. Wolf arrived in Cleveland in 2018. Understandably, the Browns are said to be prioritizing a unified coaching/front office front, but that has always been easier said than done under scatterbrained owner Jimmy Haslam.

You are completely wrong STD....it means they have no management.SteelerDayTrader wrote: ↑Mon Dec 30, 2019 4:53 pm
Whatever you think about Freddie Kitchens.....Firing a HC after one year means management has no plan and just follows the wind....
They have an incompetent congress of former players and business people and the owner. The loudest voice of the day, gets to have the decision of the day executed. Go home and repeat the next day.
No manager or management could have that poor of a vision! Only a non hierarchical body could be driving the Shit show this many years.

Gee, I wonder why none of COTY Tomlin's coordinators are being considered for a head coaching position.
