Good to see you writing again IC. Just unfortunate it was hastened by the departure of another great writer in FC.
I don't worry so much that this will be a trap game as much as I worry about Tomlin and Haley taking their feet off the gas in favor of a turtle ball approach to a seemingly inferior opponent. I have my share of angst toward Tomlin, but his history of playing down to the level of the competition ranks near top of my list of frustrations.
FC likes to discuss matchups particularly those in the trenches. This week I hope to see Munchaks boys continue their dominance against a front 7 much smaller and less stout than last weeks Panthers. MVP candidate Leveon Bell and former Buc Legarrette Blount should have little trouble duplicating last weeks success so long as Ben brings some play action to help keep the Bucs big ass safeties out of the box. An occasional deep ball attempt would do wonders for the run game as well.
Yes all the injuries on defense are concerning, but the matchup that has me up at 100 am is the vertically challenged willie gay in coverage against either Vjax or Mike Evans. While the Bucs attempt to emulate the Basketball offense of the Bears has been a colossal failure, that doesn't mean I feel good about Troy, Mitchell or a backer in coverage with Austin sef Jenkins, especially in the red zone.
Anyway a quality preview IC, thanks for taking the time.
Time to talk Tampa Bay
