Maybe Tampa Bay is actually a really good team?

A place to talk Steelers football and what else is going on around the NFL

I wont back track \i would have the run the ball too, I would not count on a 37 yard punt \and giving up 40 plus yard pass down the middle of the D. If you cant stop a team with 40 seconds and no time outs from mid field you did not lose cause you did not pass the ball, Guess what because you wanted a pass does not mean it gets caught, See its playing the percentages. Now I support Tomlin in that case but still think overall he is below the line. its called objectivity. See continually harping about Brown dropping a pass and how it hindered Bens numbers is subjective cause he got a TD pass on the same drive Look at the Steelers offensive numbers compared to other teams. They are very good (even with a very mediocre receving stable. Our offense while not elite is pretty good

With the defense we have, you PUT THE BALL IN YOUR FRANCHISE QB's HANDS.

When the defense is playing the way it played in Carolina, that's a different story.

When they play like they did today, that is a very, very fucking different story.

Christ, did you see the game? That defense was SHITTING THEMSELVES.

You cannot fucking take the chance at giving Tampa Bay the ball back.

I mean, you can, but......well you saw the result.

Why pay the fucker 100 million and then have him pooch punt instead of going for it on 4th and 2 with a 7 point lead? AT HOME? AGAINST TAMPA FUCKING BAY? Were the Falcons worried about Tampa's defense last week? 56 points later, I'm gonna go with, "no, they weren't."

Coaching failure.

I understand the percentages.

I also understand a DEFENSE IN FUCKING FREE FALL.

We couldn't stop a wheelchair league basketball team there.

Exactly we don't have the '08 Steelers defense that always came up with a timely turnover. The strength of our team is the offense and we have a $100 million plus QB. He needs to win the game and finish off the Bucs in that situation.

Playing not to lose. Coddling a lead instead of extending it.
Lacking a killer instinct. Maybe this lesson will finally get through the heads of coaches and players.

Been watching them play like this on and off for almost 60 years.

I don't know why I'm even responding to this, I think the Steelers win 8 of 10 games.

They played like shit. Much worse than I thought. Nothing that can't be fixed.
